Ponderosa Heating & Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical

This was my second time using them. Brent M & Bobby C installed light fixtures and ceiling fans. One of the existing boxes for the ceiling fan was installed incorrectly and the promptly corrected it. They explained everything in detail, treated our home with respect and performed the work properly. They did a thorough cleaning before leaving. Strongly recommend.

Excellent job by Elliot and another plumber, so sorry I don’t remember your name. They arrived early and immediately assessed our hot water heater’s problem. The second plumber explained in detail the problems and then clearly explained our options. I felt comfortable with their diagnosis and remedy. Once we decided how to proceed, they immediately went to work. Super friendly, professional guys! We really appreciated their service. Highly recommend Ponderosa Heating & Cooling.

They were very nice people, the job looks well done, is working great, and they were fast, but unfortunately I have to take a star off for the following:

- They were not on time on either of the day’s scheduled (seems like no one in town is ever in time, so that didn’t bother me much)
- They cracked on of the tiles (good thing is that it’s inside a closet, bad thing is that we installed it about 1 year ago)
- They broke part of the laundry cabinetry.
- They promised “we leave it better than we found it” if I’m not wrong, and that definitively didn’t happened. They didn’t used shoe protection and the house is very dirty, including what I think is pipe dust.

I called Ponderosa to add an outdoor plug for easy charging of my camper van. Brent and Jake were so nice and friendly, they came up with a great plan of relocating things on my electrical panel to make room for my Lil Beast. This included running a line from inside my garage to the exterior wall and placing an outlet near where I park my van. It’s perfect, it works beautifully and everything was left perfectly clean and in place. They were also on time and worked quickly to get this taken care of. Megan was so awesome at scheduling and helping everything go so smoothly. I wouldn’t call anyone else, Ponderosa rocks!!

I was pleasantly surprised that I could find a quality plumber on a holiday weekend! Elliott & Jason answered my questions. And did a great job installing my dishwasher, hooking up the disposal and Kitchen Faucet! And finished the bathroom installations I needed! They also took the time to confirm everything was working properly. I am grateful! Thank you Elliott & Jason! You guys are a great team! You guys Rock!

The rep who came out was very friendly and made a sincere effort to fix the issue. He definitely tried.

He was one of 4 service providers we'd asked for a diagnosis. Each had a different diagnosis as to why our brand new heat pump was not working. However, the service visit only ended up prolonging the system's self-protection shut down procedure to 25 minutes, instead of 15. His proposed solutions - one of which was $1600 more than their competitors, and the other, one that cost $3800 - was based upon a completely incorrect diagnosis of the kind of equipment we had. We would have spent $3800 and it wouldn't have changed anything. The existing hardware was literally verified incapable of supporting the proposed fix.

The front office staff, quoted a figure of $112 for a visit and a half-hour diagnosis - after which, we'd have options to decide upon before going further. As it was, we ended up with a $300 bill with no options ever being presented, for a fix that didn't change a thing. Followup by various Ponderosa staff (4) strongly encouraged discussing the proposed estimates and getting them scheduled.

The 5 star rating is for Bryce, he did an outstanding job with our maintenance. Professional and courteous.

However, this is the last time anyone in this household will be doing business with Ponderosa, outside of scheduled HVAC maintenance (and we’re only keeping that because it’s necessary to maintain the equipment warranty). We had an electrician out here a few months ago to install new bathroom vent fans, which cost an obscene amount of money considering we supplied the parts ourselves and one of them doesn’t even work properly. The tech did a good job, but he didn’t have the last part to fix it totally and the office never followed up like they were supposed to. We have also found their office to be very pushy, when they are desperate to fill their schedule they try to force inconvenient appointment times on us.

We had Ponderosa re-locate the power, water and vent for a washer and dryer. Communication with the main office was great; they made sure to call and confirm appointments, and even let me know when a plumber was running late. Elliott, the plumber, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He was able to answer all my questions and also provide recommendations. Quinn, the electrician, worked quickly and efficiently to move the 240V outlet plug. Highly recommended, and I would absolutely hire them again.

Gary serviced our heating unit. We were very happy with his service. Even got our ithermostat connected to app on our phone. His technical expertise is outstanding and communication was perfect. Highly recommend him!!

Elliott was friendly, prompt and had great suggestions for solutions to our hot water circulation pump issue. He graciously answered all our questions. We definitely felt we were in good hands!
