I called Gresham Heating and Air Conditioning for a furnace check up. They had installed our new furnace in 2007 and we were happy with the work at that time. Recently, we had starting hearing an intermittent high pitched noise so we called them. When the technician showed up I told him about the noise. Without actually hearing the noise he stated it was due to a bad blower motor bearing, and pointed at a slight oil stain in the cabinet. I was quoted $600+ for a replacement. I agreed, but had doubts about the quick diagnosis. He returned the next Tuesday for the installation of the blower assembly. After the replacement, my wife noticed the same noise with the technician present. He stated the noise is now coming from the exhaust system and could be another $500+. At this point, my wife paid the bill even though we still had the same initial problem. I contacted the shop to discuss the situation. I was told by the office person that the technician's statements were totally different than what actually happened. Basically, she said it was then a he said - he said situation. I feel more time should have been spent diagnosing the problem noise before rushing to replace the blower. Extremely disappointed with this visit...

DON'T BOTHER WITH GRESHAM HEATING AND COOLING!!!

The same exact thing happened to me that happened to another poster. Had a 3pm appointment on Friday, no one showed. Knowing the office closes at 5, I called them at 4:50 asking for an update. They take my info and said someone at the office, or the technician, would call me back. Here it is, after 6, and I never got a call. So glad I took time off work for nothing. After reading other reviews about how they like to sneak on extra charges without notice, I don't even want to even reschedule with this company. I'll go with someone else that respects my time and wants my business.

Called this business in a panic when my cat jumped down a heating duct. Kathy the office manager was amazing, along with the owner and his wife. They were all so wonderful. Kathy especially tried to put me at ease when I was in hysterics. She helped me get my cat out pretty quickly the first time... however my cat slipped through my hands and somehow dove into another heating vent before I had gone around the housing closing all of the remaining heating vents. For 3 days in a row, Kathy was talking with me on the phone, brainstorming on what we could do next, and going out of her way before, after and during work hours to check on my cat. The owner also made several visits to the house to inspect the ducting system to pinpoint which duct she was hiding in as she never made even the tiniest meow the entire time. The best solution ended up being to remove the duct that ran between the floor joists as we had worried that somehow the cat had gotten caught on one of the exposed screws in the ducting system. After finally getting my cat out after what felt like forever---but more like 3 days-- the owner was quick to make time in his schedule to replace the duct that we had had to remove and provided recommendations on how we could heat/cool more effectively.
I am so grateful to Kathy and the owner for their incredible generosity, kindness, compassion, and time that it took to pull out my cat. I have no doubt that for any future heating and cooling needs I will go to them. Side note: My cat has adjusted to life in the PNW finally, it took about 1-2 months, and it makes me so happy. Words cannot express my gratitude to you guys. Thank you again and again.

We called Gresham Heating & Cooling asking for someone to come out and tell us what is wrong with our central A/C. Tyson came out, misdiagnosed problem with A/C. Tried to get me to sign up for the yearly service,we were charged $453 to have a fuse and a small unit for the fan replaced. We proceeded to have the same problem with unit. We were then quoted $1500 for a new motherboard. They didn't return our calls , after repeated attempts, when we tried to get information regarding the motherboard they said they were ordering. We waited long enough, called Clausen's and they came out right away, said motherboard is fine, reconnected some wires, and only charged us $89. I recommend you do NOT call Gresham Heating & Cooling for anything.

Great people to work with. Did an excellent job removing the previous furnace, which had been badly placed and was succumbing to rather nasty critters and water, installing the new furnace, re-doing ductwork that needed fixing and re-insulating, and cleaning up afterwards. I highly recommend this company.
