I have had two furnaces installed and serviced at two different homes. The technicians are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Lamont just finished my winter service. Did a great job. I recommend Schibi wholeheartedly. Great company.

I asked for analysis of an inoperable AC unit by a Schibi technician. After maybe 3 (no more than 5) minutes of diagnostics, my the technician told me that the cost to repair would likely be more than half of the cost to replace and suggested as such. Schibi Heating and Cooling had given this same unit a clean bill of health just 3 months prior.

I asked for a price quote and was told by that I would be called by telephone that afternoon. No call came that Friday afternoon.

I called Schibi on Monday morning at 8:30 AM and was told that a sales person would be in touch with me. No call came that day either.

Luckily, I was referred to another company by a friend a few days back, and had decided to place a call into them later that morning so as to have a backup quote to compare. That company came out the next day and proceeded to service what was nothing more than a faulty wire (that was apparently VERY visible) as well as clean the compressor coils and check the Freon. $207 dollars and 30 minutes later, the house was cool again.

I have used Schibi for service calls both at a house on Jessup and the house I have lived in for 10 years. Over off Thompson many of us have oil furnaces. Not all technicians are the same when it comes to an oil furnace. I used Schibi because they send the right guys to fit the job.

This past summer I decided to get some idea of what a new furnace and a central a/c would cost. Some places would have sold me an air pump/electric furnace/split whatever you want to call it. Get rid of oil. It gets too cold for that here unless you have an oil or gas back up for the cold months. Ken Schibi treated me with respect and explained my options. He reasearched and found out my furnace was over 25 years old. I decided to replace that and add the a/c unit. Ken was focused on the best, most cost efficient solution and my happiness. Ken has a work ethic that is all too rare these days. He wanted that system to work and work well. He wanted me to insulate some returns under my house to help the efficiency. He was advising me, not selling a service and it was just bc he wanted it all done correctly for me. He told me what to get and how to procure it. He even called me once after the sale to ask if I had done it yet. lol.

Recently they called to set up a time to check on the furnace since it was too hot when they installed it. I made arrangements for my adult son to be there and I was shocked when he told me that they were at my house for an hour and a half (no cost to me). They were just checking to make sure that the system they put in is operating optimally. Let me restate that ... AT NO COST TO ME THEY WERE AT MY HOUSE CHECKING TO SEE IF THEIR EQUIPMENT WAS WORKING OPTIMALLY! It's tough to find service like that. It's no doubt that the owner is part of the Greatest Generation and the business still operates with pride and integrity. I asked what will happen IF he ever retires and was happy to find out that it will stay in the family who share his values.

On pricing, SCHIBI was in the middle, not the lowest but not the highest. On quality and knowledge and business practice - SCHIBI is Best in Class. I cannot recommend them enough. I don't know them other than as a customer and I received nothing for this review. I just feel strongly that supporting our local businesses that have excellent quality and service will encourage more to do the same.

I was having a loud buzzing noise when the temperature reached below 30. The fan blowing, not defrosting the unit. I got Steve. He did a diagnostics test on my outside system, said there was nothing wrong, CHARGED ME $207, and 15 minutes later he was gone. I had to make him look at my thermostat. He tried to dismiss me a couple times but, kicking and screaming, he finally did go to the thermostat. I am a female. It is just another case of trying to charge a woman for things that weren’t done. I called schibi up to discuss the charges. They claimed they would have to get his ticket (even though he left a copy of his “ticket” with me and I read it to her), promising to call and talk about it “in the morning”. The only thing that happened the next morning is a charge on my bank account for $207 worth of work STEVE. didn’t even do. AND my outside unit is still making a loud noise. Thank god I have dual heat or this joker would have left me without heat, without money to pay for it since I got scammed out of $200. I would NOT recommend.
UPDATE: I called schibi back when the sound was present AGAIN, stood by the unit and let them hear it. They were more interested in talking about the review. I told them that I would rather have someone come back out and make it right with me instead of talking about the review. He told me he wasn’t going to send anyone out. (They promised to come back within 30 days). I called Schmidt’s. They came out the next morning, found the problem. It was a bad shroud that had been recalled and therefore was under warranty. The man from Schmidt’s (Mark-he’s excellent) stayed the first time for 2 1/2 hours, charging me $150. He also suggested that I get a new dual fuel thermostat. I bought the one he suggested. He came out, fixed the shroud, hooked up my thermostat and charged me $90. A $240 fix cost me $450 thanks to schibi.

We have our furnace and air conditioner serviced every year. Today we had the furnace serviced. Mike, the service technician, was thorough and polite. He was knowledgeable and efficient. We highly recommend this company for the many years of good, reliable service!

We woke up this morning to an extremely cold house and realized our furnace wasn't working. I called Shibi first thing and they sent out a technician to our house as their first call. Matt arrived soon thereafter, diagnosed the problem, and fixed our issue quickly. He was courteous and kept us updated on what the issue was. This was a problem we could not solve on our own, so we were very thankful for the immediate response. We have used Shibi many times and I trust them to always be fair and honest.

This is a fantastic company. I didn't have air conditioning and the office staff was very concerned. They worked me in and had someone to my house as soon as possible. Norb arrived to do measurements and explained the process to me as he went. The office staff helped me with financing so things could go as smooth as possible. The team that came to my house was professional, polite and worked quickly to get the job done.
