Swaim Electric Heat & Air Conditioning

*The reason this has 3 stars instead of 1 is due to the fact that they were able to get us in fairly quickly considering the wait time for most companies and they were able to get our unit changed out and working all in the same day. *

This company was contracted out by Lowe’s. After we paid for the unit and did not have any AC at all for 2 weeks Swaim finally decided to give us an install date. They were supposed to be here at 9am but did not get here until 10:45am. The Trane unit they put in is louder than our 26year old unit they replaced but it does cool the house decently. The thermostat they put in was quite smaller than our old one which now shows a different color paint behind it from the previous owners. One of them managed to bust a lightbulb upstairs and didn’t tell anybody so when I got up there I stepped on a piece of glass from the bulb that was in the carpet of the bedroom floor. They also managed to break 2 of the steps coming off of our front deck which I had to replace. The guys got in and got the unit installed which was great after not having air for 2 weeks but at the same time, it was very bull in a china shop like and they said nothing about breaking a bulb or the steps. The guys were very friendly and got the unit in but I would just watch how they treat your home. We have also yet to get our warranty information for everything.

Also, Forsyth county requires an inspection after the install and trying to get that scheduled has been a headache. I’ve called more people in the last week about doing their job than I have in 5 years and I’ve wasted so much time. Today I was told the inspectors would be here, I waited by the phone at home from 7am-5pm and never heard anything and had to call the office 3 times to be told at 4:30 today that it might be another day...really appreciating all of my time that has been wasted. 🙄

Update 1: After waiting around multiple days for an inspector, we failed inspection due to a bad breaker and not enough insulation near the air handler.

Update 2: A guy came out today and fixed the issues that didn’t pass inspection. He also cleaned up the glass left in the floor near the air handler from the previous work crew. (This gentleman was very nice, quick, and professional). Now another inspection will have to be scheduled.

I would give 6 stars if I could. My upstairs system needed to be replaced, and the technicians faced a really difficult challenge in a very small attic area (in August, poor guys). They could not have done a better job! They were very professional, knowledgeable and approached the job with a great attitude. I’m very grateful and highly recommend Swaim Electric!!

This company was hired by my builder to install a new unit. 2 months after the install when we first turned the heat on, 2am and the smoke detectors went off and scared us. Apparently some wires rubbed and fried something. We were out heat a few days. 2 years later and they won't even service the unit. They say it only has a 1 year warranty. I called and was willing to pay for them to check is out as again I have no heat. Earliest appt was a week out. I patiently waited. They were suppose to show up at 9 and didn't decide to call until 9:45 that they were not going to make it. They offered me another appt a week out. No thank you. I'll take my business and money elsewhere!

Again my hat is off to Swaim Electric. Dealing with Heather and Tammy on the phone to get help with our generator has been a great experience. They both went out of their way to help us. Looking forward to dealing with this company down the road because of the great service !!!!

Excellent service! Highly recommend for generator installation. Eddie Hill did an excellent job at making sure we were satisfied with the work. He really went above and beyond.

After some estimates from other companies, I decided on Swaim Electric. Very professional group, easy to deal with and listened to my needs. Had a whole new install XR14 heat pump/furnace and it has been running great!

We purchased a Trane and had Swaim Electric to put in our new system. The Swaim El;ectric Staff are an extra super staff of people. The job performance was excellent! The workers were polite and on task all day. I am so please with a job well done. Great job guys.

Swaim handled the replacement of two HVAC units. One was in the attic and one was in the crawlspace. Swaim did an outstanding job for me. Ian was my point of contact. They left my attic and crawlspace cleaner than they found them. All of the Swaim employees were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. No hand prints, no footprints, no trash outside! I highly recommend Swaim!

I feel like they massed over me. I was charged $175.00 for a battery that just did last one year. I called about a service call , when they sent a man out there he was to change the oil, the battery and the spark plug. This was not done. After he can out to service the generator he told me the battery was good he said I wouldn't change it. And after a short while, the power went out and the battery was dead, then I had to pay Swain electric $175.00 to bring me a battery that wasn't even new. Yes this is dirty, I wouldn't do a dog like that.
