The heat at our home went out on Dec 5th, after we had just had a maintenance and service appointment in the fall, through our warranty co (Sears/CINCH Services). In one of those appts it was RECOMMENDED that we have a company out that could fix an electrical issue with our Goodman Furnace. I am overjoyed that for the first time in years, we have a fully functional system upstairs! Best of all, while Sun-Zero worked with my warranty company for parts approvals etc, we were provided with a temporary fix to get us through the FRIGID TEMPS that NC experienced last month (Dec 2022).
I can not thank them enough so I decided to both text the team & write this review! I did not read their reviews before now. I highly recommend Sub-Zero and I will request them as my preferred company for any subsequent repairs through my warranty company. Thanks again. Sue

Used this service through Cinch home warranty, not by our choice. Poor communication overall between home warranty company and this repair company. It took OVER 60 days total to get our heat repaired because of lack or communication and poor service. We went through Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years…. In our new home waiting for our heat upstairs to be repaired. When service was scheduled to be done, I got a call that day saying no technicians were working (after we had taken the day off to be home for the service.) Multiple scheduled attempts for repair, job took ENTIRELY to long and horrible customer service by whoever answers the phone and completes the logistics/ scheduling as they don’t know when they have technicians working. We went through many freezing (literally) days and nights in our new home (with children!) just waiting for this to be fixed. I would never recommend this company to fix anything. Totally unprofessional and incompetent. I’ve worked in customer service most of my life and am flabbergasted at what I’ve witnessed. Not to mention I don’t have one single piece of paperwork for any of the work they performed.

I had a positive experience. I was concerned by some the reviews but most of us don't take the time to share when things go right… right?
Cinch Home Warranty dispatched SubZero when the previous companies two repairs had not solved my cooling problem.
SubZero made the repair recommendation and Cinch chose a different route. The repair was properly performed but that didn’t solve the issue.
Cinch decided to replace another part… same story.
Third time’s a charm. Cinch approved the repair plan that was originally drafted by SubZero; problem solved.
I had the opportunity to observe SubZero work as a team on several occasions. They’re no more perfect than the rest of us but they dealt with the ridiculous Cinch Home Warranty Company while I picketed the local Sears Appliance Center, until the repair was authorized. I was super-angry and I knew it was the fault of Cinch. SubZero did a great job every (4) times. They even communicated very well with me, probably because I wasn’t being a jerk.
I’ll request SubZero the next time the Sears techs are over scheduled.

Had to go with Sub Zero because of home warranty situation. When they initially diagnosed the furnace problem, they said the pressure valve was rusted through and required a whole new panel. We had our furnace guy come out and he fixed the pressure valve nipple that Sub Zero broke off when they arrived which took five minutes and said we need a new inducer motor. We informed Sub Zero that our heating guy said it just needs a new inducer motor and they took the recommendation from Air Innovations and ordered the part to our warranty company. The warranty company said it was delivered on a Monday and they have the federal express tracking numbers and signature. We kept calling throughout the week and they said they did not have it and then at the end of the week Friday they said we found it but then started saying there was no packing slip and we had no idea what it was for. They did come out later that evening and that was indeed the problem and the furnace now works fine. They arrived at 5:30 PM, It took roughly 15 minutes to fix and they would not leave until we paid them another $50 service charge. We called the warranty company and they said we should only have to pay the one charge and also stated they will never be using Sub Zero ever again. We tried stopping payment on the $50 check but they actually went right to chase bank afterwards and deposited the check that evening. Bottom line, Synch home warranty company was amazing and very helpful through this and if you need a heating and cooling company to work with I highly recommend Air Innovations.

We have a service contract with a home warranty company, who told us that our A/C repair would be handled by Sub Zero Heating/Cooling. We were contacted promptly by Sub Zero to schedule the repair, they arrived within the "window" given, and promptly diagnosed the problem(s). One part was replaced the same day, but the other part had to be ordered from our Home Warranty company. Once the part arrived, Sub Zero came out promptly (again within the promised time frame) and completed the repair.

We were very impressed with this A/C contractor. Very knowledgeable and capable. They are easy to contact and they did return our phone calls. Courteous. We would recommend them,

NOT happy with home warranty company's response time in sending replacement part...but that's another story!

I contacted my home warranty company about having my air conditioner serviced. Not long after, I received a call from someone with Sub Zero Heating and Cooling to come out today between 11-3 pm to service my unit.
Just after 2:30, I received a call from the serviceman asking for directions to my home, as he said my address was not coming up in his GPS.
After giving directions, and confirming my address, he said he was on his way to my house.
About 10 minutes later, I received a call from a woman with Sub Zero stating that Sub Zero does not service homes in my area.
After contacting my warranty company to find out about the mixup, the representative said the companies (Sub Zero) are responsible for confirming the service areas before they accept the jobs!
So you mean to tell me Sub Zero accepted my job, wasted my entire day, and isn’t professional or competent enough to know what areas they service???
I guess it was a blessing in disguise that they did not perform any service on my air conditioner!
Stay as far away from this company as possible!
No wonder they have such negative reviews on google!!
I’m my opinion, after the serviceman spoke with me, he made a ‘decision’ not to service my home, otherwise how else do you explain a company being in route to your home, and then all of a sudden realizing they don’t service your area??

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - I got referred to them via my Cinch home warranty, I read all the negative reviews on here but hoped for the best. It was a nightmare, completely incompetent. Caused me countless hours of work with the warranty company to get it straightened out. Beware you will regret using them. Call warranty company and get referred to a different HVAC Co, you will be much happier.

I only used this company because it was required by my home warranty.

I waited from May to September for the work to be done. 6 months without AC during an extremely hot summer. Yes, part of that was the warranty company's fault, but when the warranty company said they had delivered my equipment in July, Sub Zero flat out refused to pick it up, demanding that it be delivered to their work address, making me wait another month and a half.
It took three weeks for them to finish the work at my house, showing that I was a low priority customer to them.
There was poor communication about when they would be working, and I had to take off work three days that they just didn't show up.
If they gave me a window of 10-2 for arrival, they would come at 1:55, at the last possible moment, but I had to be home for that entire window waiting on them, because they didn't call before coming.
They didn't knock on my door before going to my back deck and moving my things around and starting work on the unit.
They demanded full payment before doing any work, and when I refused and said I needed to talk to my warranty company, they sat in their van until I came out with a check, saying that the warranty company owed them so much money that they weren't going to touch anything until I paid.
They didn't put a drop cloth down before starting, and got debris all over the floor, THEN put a drop cloth down. They offered to clean it up but I said to just leave.
Left several deep gouges in my hardwood floors from where they moved my furnace.
Left an open hole in my closet floor for an entire week, and during that time mice got into my house.
Left my back door open for a long time and let a bunch of flies in.
Left HVAC parts and trash in my yard for over a week.
Filled up my personal trashcan with construction trash without permission. (I couldn't put any other trash in the can, it was overflowing with hvac parts)
Did not use face masks inside my house, even though it was a state mandate at the time.
Extremely unprofessional, asked to put their tools on my pickup truck tailgate, and threw them on the ground when I said no.
Made fun of my appearance, my job, what I was eating, etc., "poking fun," making me uncomfortable in my own home.
Part of their job was to remove my furnace and put it back. They did that, and now my furnace isn't working. I'm calling somebody else.

Update: I just paid to have my furnace repaired by a different company, they identified the problem as a wire that Sub Zero didn't reconnect when they reinstalled my furnace.

Sub Zero was sent to my home by my home warranty company when my AC unit totally stopped working. Before they came I was a bit nervous because the online reviews I read weren't great. When I spoke with the company to schedule a visit I felt the staff was very friendly and were able to come out in a timely fashion, so at first I disagreed with the reviews. My AC worked for less than an hour before it broke down again. The second time around they weren't as prompt in scheduling an appointment then didn't even show up during the scheduled time. It is very frustrating to be asked to be home during a 6 hour block of time just to have the company not show up. After a second visit the problem was still not solved. It took 3 visits and more than 3 weeks to get my AC unit up and running again during the hottest temperatures of the summer. Even my home warranty company was pretty exhausted with the process and was ready to switch companies. I was not happy with my service from Sub Zero and would not recommend them.
