We have been using Bell for years for our AC service and repairs and have always been very happy with the company. We recently had our annual maintenance with Kevin and he was excellent! We had not had him service the house before and we have several units. Kevin was very personable, patient and courteous and he went above and beyond to make sure all units were working at their best, including our very tricky loft and basement units. It's so nice to have such wonderful service to rely on!
Bell Mechanical wasn't my first call, but they were definitely my last. We had a Carrier Heat Pump installed recently for Heat and AC and it's working great. We had several local (big name) companies come out and give estimates, but Bell (specifically Dave) were the only ones to actually properly size the unit we needed. I never felt like we were being oversold or up-charged on anything. Everyone from Colleen, Dave and Giovanni, was a pleasure to work with.
Find another company, horrible experience. Reached out to Bell to install a new HVAC system. My home did not have existing ducting and was quoted for a 20 seer heat pump. After paying in full ($30,000) Installation was to occur 6/12-6/14. Installation was not completed in the agreed upon time, and as of today 7/8 the job is still not completed. The initial installation ran more than a week over where I was then told the job completed. Concerned about the service I crawled into my attic to inspect the work and noticed the air purifier I purchased was not hooked up. Bell was unaware and marked the job as complete. My wife and I have reached out to Bell repeatedly and have not gotten any answers to finish the job. On top of that the brand-new heat pump was at least supposed to be hooked up but is not working. It is currently 84 degrees out and 78 degrees in my home. I am now considering legal action.
My HVAC system has been giving me problems a few years after Bell installed an entire new system and all new duct work. I have renewed my preventive maintenance contract with them for 15 years and for the last 10 years, they continue to send a service technician to band-aid the situation due to my system leaking refrigerant instead of finding the leak and repairing it. They would just send a tech over to add refrigerant, but they never bothered to find out where the leak was coming from. This appeared to the norm for Bell. Of course, after the warranty expired, they now wanted to charge me $1,500 to fix it last summer, but after several discussions they agreed to roughly $500. It worked for one-month last summer, only to turn on the system this spring with the same issue. Apparently, the slow leak issue continues. I called two weeks ago to renew my contract, setup up my annual preventive maintenance, and request a service call for a refrigerant leak once again. I was told I still had a balance, and they will look into this issue and get back to me. No return call from them for 2 weeks and I also have not received a response to an email from over a week ago. Note - Even the tech they sent last summer to replace the line-set that was supposedly leaking, left after the work was complete and told me the system is running like new. I told him the airflow pressure normally coming from my vents didn't feel right, and as cold. He said it's working correctly and was fast to leave. Guess what.. cold air not blowing from vents and two days later they said they were going to send one of their best technicians to troubleshoot. The next tech was definitely much more competent and recharged the system correctly. WARNING - Your tech released clouds of R410A refrigerant into the atmosphere and should lose his license and be fined. Don't be fooled by the good reviews on here for them. I regret ever having done business with Bell.
Made my annual maintenance appointment 3 months ago as they were booked. Stayed home from work and they were a no show. I Called them and they said that they wouldn’t be able to come as they had emergency calls. They said they forgot to call me the day before and the morning of the visit. Received a call back as I requested to speak to a Supervisor. Got the call back. Not from a supervisor. Got the standard apology. I was rescheduled for late July. 12-5 window. The whole experience was unacceptable.
I phoned Bell and the first person I spoke with was Dave Hopper who was very informative and helpful in choosing the perfect A/C unit for my home and he gave me peace of mind. I then spoke with Flo and Colleen who also were very kind and helpful in scheduling the appointment. My last point of contact was the installers of my new A/C George and Mario who were professional, kind and helpful. They all really cared about getting the job done with professionalism, kindness and will keep them in mind for any maintenance and/or other services. Very happy with the whole process and will recommend to my friends and family !
We spent $17,000 to install a new HVAC system with this company. We signed a service contract, when we had a problem in the winter they never showed up. We received our new service contract in the mail and it’s three times the amount of what we already paid and they have not serviced our unit yet at all. We decided to go with a different company that’s a fraction of the cost and we can actually get an appointment within a couple weeks. we requested we be refunded for our service contract and we were told they’re not going to refund our money but they’ll come service our unit two months from now, that’s absolutely ridiculous for all the money we spent. They have been bought out by another company do not use Bell mechanical!
We had Bell Mechanical install geothermal heat pumps and an air source heat pump. Given the unusual layout of our house, the project was fairly complicated and also required installation of new ducts and vents. It was a pleasure dealing with Bell throughout the process - professional and competent service in assessing our needs and designing and installing the project. Special thanks to Umair, our main point of contact throughout the process.
The crew from Bell Mechanical did an excellent job installing my mini-split system. When the system needed a tune-up they were able to diagnose and repair the issue (under warranty). Steve and Travis were efficient and the absolute professionals. I want to extend my a special thanks to Colleen who coordinated my repair. I recommend Bell Mechanical without reservation.
The absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my life. Sure, you’ll pay them to apply for permits but you’ll be on the phone doing all the follow up. Held my check when I was in an emergency situation and didn’t schedule with the town for over a week. Still trying to get my final inspection over a month later.
