Hawthorne Plumbing, Heating & Cooling - Reno

Called for a leak to be repaired. They had a guy out faster than Domino's pizza.,no really guy showed up in 30 minutes. Figured out what was causing a leak and fixed it in no time. Couldn't be happier!!

Once contacted they reacted immediately. Their employee, Dave, arrived on time; was courteous & professional; explained what he was doing at each step; And finally was able to identify and repair the problem. I strongly endorse this company and I will not hesitate to call them in the future.

We had a leak under the kitchen sink. My husband has been installing & repairing everything in the house his entire adult life. Now at 77 he is not able to get under the sink, lay on the 3 inch ledge on his back and work in the small space above his head, to his eternal distress. So, we realized we needed an expert Plumber. Ben Franklin had a convenient time for us 30 hours later. The time slot was 1:00 to 5:00, but they arrived at 1:40, which was nice. David introduced himself and his apprentice and was shown to the leak. He immediately diagnosed where the leak began and explained what was happening and why. He had 3 options for us to choose from. The prices were plainly written under each choice. When asked if this was the final price he assured me that no extra costs of any kind would be added, and we paid exactly that, as he had stated. I like a faucet with a separate Hot & Cold lever, which necessitated them leaving to pick one up, and they were back in a flash. They worked quickly and efficiently, & were professional and patient with any questions we had. David explained how to maintain the seal and took another moment to point out that where the counter meets the wall was also in need of new caulking applied all around. I have a quality cast iron & porcelain double sink, and the new chrome hardware looks beautiful. The faucet is high which is what I need and like, and unlike most of these styles, it does not splash at all. When they were finished he explained the further benefits of being a Ben Franklin customer such as having our hot water heater drained & checked annually at no cost for the 1st year along with check and maintenance on our new product, and a check on our entire home's water supplies for problems we might not be aware of. I can not think of anything more that an ethical, reasonably priced plumber could do. I will recommend Ben Franklin and David to anyone needing a plumber.

Called after hours regarding plumbing leak at bathroom shower faucet at rental property. Tenant turned off water and I was waiting until next morning for Appt. Received call at 7:30am confirming Appt between 11am - 1pm. Nick arrived around noon and determined tenants had turned up temperature on hot water heater which caused the plastic/rubber in the valve to melt, which jammed the valve open. Valve was repaired and hot water heater control was reduced but still not getting hot water in master bathroom. Nick determined that when the tenant shut off the water, the electric recirculating pump was not unplugged and was damaged due to overheating. Nick was able to obtain a replacement pump and perform the repair in short order. He gave me a discount on the pump price and said Hawthorne PHC would give me a courtesy inspection/hot water tank flush in 1 year to ensure everything was working correctly. If I ever have a plumbing, heating or cooling problem in the future, I will be calling HawthornePHC and asking for Nick. TDE, Reno, NV

For having a few issues with my property from main water line break to hot water coming out of cold water pipes. David was pulled in many directions from my job to other jobs. We had a few hiccups but communication was always there from main office and the Manger himself. I would strongly recommend David as your tech he is level headed calm and VERY professional. The price was extremely fair and in line with industry standards.

We had to have a shower drain replaced along with the pipes underneath to get them up to code. The workmanship of Hawthorne plumbing is excellent. But, I was shocked that 45 minutes of work produced a bill of $881.00

OVERCHARGING CUSTOMERS - WATER HEATER REPLACEMENT.
Scheduled a call to residence for a water heater warranty replacement. Wanted to charge me $1,100 for a warrantied water heater replacement which should be around $500. They also told me that if it was a new install they would charge me $2,200 which should be around $1,200. Be wary of these guys as they are trying to overcharge unsuspecting customers over 100%!!!

Just used Ben Franklin for the first time and am very impressed with the technicians and the service. They arrived on time, communicated well, were friendly and did a great job. The price was very fair and I definitely recommend them.
