Hawthorne Plumbing, Heating & Cooling - Reno

Great professional service. Great turnaround time but definitely pricey. Each service is flat rate so any project with multiple steps incurred separate repetitive charges. Work that costs $600 at competitor costs $1800 with Hawthorn. Needless to say Hourly company like Jet Plumbing hired.

The technician was thorough and did a great job! I normally would get a second estimate because the price seemed steep but I wanted to address the leak as soon as possible and Hawthone responded immediately on the same day of my call and on a Saturday! Excellent service from beginning to end. Great experience.

Editing 8/16/21 to say that I am changing my review to 4 stars because this company read my review and contacted me to make this right. The problem was actually related to my water heater and not the faucet at all. I appreciated the time their supervise took to come here personally and appreciated the communication from their office keeping me updated.

Original review : I would not recommend this company. My kitchen faucet seems to have lost cold water. I asked my home warranty company to do a service ticket and this is the company they sent out. The technician that showed up did nothing to resolve the problem. He walked around checking the water temperature of all of the other faucets, suggesting maybe the municipal water system was just hotter this year. When I asked him if there was some kind of a piece inside the faucet that determines hot or cold water coming on , he said he was unsure, made some phone calls out front and came back inside and told me that I could be a lot of things but that it was beyond his wheelhouse.

They replaced our tankless hot water heater a few years ago. We had a very satisfying experience with their staff then. They were very friendly and professional. This week we required some warranty work for the sale of our home. They were fast and efficient at getting us taken care of. I highly recommend them.

Excellent communication from the office staff and plumber. Clear and concise what was needed and the cost of such repairs. Never did I wonder who or what was going to happen next. David the plumber gave excellent customer service while evaluating the issues we were having in our mens room and after with the information we had to send to our landlord. Heather was quick and to the point when I scheduled the work to be done. All around great experience with Hawthorne Plumbing!

We had just returned home from a months trip to find that our water heater wouldn’t light. Of course these things happen on weekends. I called Hawthorne Plumbing and Nate showed up and did everything he could do to light the pilot to no avail. The next thing he wanted to try was a new thermal couple. That $20.00 dollar part was going to be $430.00 dollars to install. I asked him why so much and he said the company sets the price. Nate found the part and installed it but that didn’t work either. He then said that it must be the control box on the heater. To replace that would be $900.00. Couldn’t believe it. Now getting late on Saturday evening with the wife now having any hot water we needed to do something. So for a mere $2500.00 dollars we had hot water by evening. My wife and I are both in our mid seventies, can’t do those things myself anymore and I didn’t have time or energy to shop around. We have hot water, Nate was great but I believe I got taken advantage of by Hawthorne Plumbing. Haven’t bought a water heater for quite some time but I believe these prices were way out of line.

I had Hawthorne install a new garbage disposal and repair my HVAC unit which would not work at all. Both jobs were completed quickly and professional. Both technicians were very knowledgeable and explained exactly what they were doing and why. Repairs were done about a week ago and I have not had an issue with either repair since. Additionally Hawthorne provided a discount for being a veteran. 5/5 stars, would highly recommend.

Was told if i didn't go with their services that it would only be $60.00 - ended up being $361.00 just for a pressure test and soap joints that took 5 minutes. No doubt a commission based upsell mentality rather than a fair / honest assessment. Tried to replace my whole system. Thank god i got a second opinion and saved myself thousands. 2 stars only because i want to highlight that the tech was doing his job and did a good job - it's the company's fault not the worker

Nate from Hawthorne Plumbing came and worked on my shower. He was very knowledgeable, very professional and reasonable. I have found the perfect plumber. If you don't call Hawthorne your crazy, even the dispatchers are very polite. Man am I glad I called these guys.

We used Hawthorne Plumbing for the 1st time after reading great google reviews. I couldn't have been more pleased with their service. They were able to respond same day (thank goodness because we had sewage backing up inside house and outside mainline drain), Nathan the plumber was prompt, able to diagnose the problem immediately, he was friendly and professional and answered all of my questions. Hawthorne Plumbing gives a military discount which was wonderful and greatly appreciated! We will definitely use this company again should we ever need more plumbing services! Thank you for the great service!
