Hawthorne Plumbing, Heating & Cooling - Reno

On the hottest day of the year so far, my 83 year old mom lost AC. Her long time vendor could not service her AC for 2 weeks. After 2 1/2 days we managed to find Hawthorne and called and they came out the same day - the tech did everything he could to save her 32 year old air conditioner but it wasn't meant to be. He then made sure that he could come out the next day with a new one and had her new unit installed and the AC on by the late afternoon the day after we called. The work that he did to try and save the old unit was not charged to us. We will always be thankful for Hawthorne and Bob for moving heaven and earth to get our mom air conditioning. The unit was a fair price and included was a year long service plan.

My water heaters expansion tank blew a leak on an early Saturday morning and there was water running through my garage due ot te leak. I was headed for trouble if I didn't get it fixed soon. I was able to turn the water off but my there were two leaks within the valve area and it was very difficult to work in the tight space where the tank was. I called Hawthorne plumbing and spoke to someone who was very professional and she took down all my information and told me that she would get back to me ASAP.
Within an hour a Service Tech showed up, assessed the issue, gave me options, then quickly got to work. He was very knowledgeable, patient, clear in his intent, and very professional. Within 15 minutes he had the job finished. I was very thankful,..and happy with the service from Hawthorne Plumbing.

I will never go anywhere else for HVAC needs! Hawthorne was quick to come out for diagnostics. We needed to fully replace the furnace and air conditioner in my home. They not only had the necessary equipment on hand, but started working on it that same day! The project was finished by the end of the week. I highly recommend this company.

Daniel was awesome! We happened to call on a Saturday night due to a backup in our tub. The service that answered my phone call was professional and efficient and she connected us to Daniel and in a matter of 20 minutes Daniel called to confirm he was on his way and asked about our plumbing issue. Once Daniel arrived he assessed the situation and problem solved. We are very grateful for the services Hawthorne provided us as well as Daniel. We highly recommend this company and we will certainly pass our recommendations to others as well. Thank you again for quality service!!

We discovered a leak in the circulation pump of our water heater which stopped heating water after hours. We called and they immediately sent a technician out....they emailed us a photo of the technician so we would be comfortable with a "stranger" arriving at night. The tech was polite, efficient and was able to restore hot water that evening and returned the next day with a new pumps stem and completed the repair. We did not cost compare the service charges but were delighted the problem was handled so quickly and efficiently

Air conditioner quit working. Called one place and one MONTH before they could come...put me on a list. Called Hawthorne plumbing and they had someone here within the hour. Jay arrived and replaced a part on A/C and I asked him to replace a faulty thermostat that has been acting up. He didn't have a working one on truck but true to his word brought a new one and installed it a day later. Jay was outstanding and was very professional and knowledgeable patiently explaining what he was doing and why. I highly recommend Hawthorne and Jay is a keeper, give this man a raise! I will use in the future. I have 2 furnaces and one ac in this home and will call them for any service needed. Heather was also very professional and helpful and kept me informed as needed. Thankyou

My water heater burst and needed it replaced. They had an estimator out the same day, I felt the price was way too high but it is was comparable to all the other phone estimates I had already gotten. Maybe labor prices are just higher in Reno than anywhere else. But the customer service was great and we decided to go with them Hawthorne because of their quick response. The service tech Nate did a great job. He was able to get to work right then. We were able to take a hot showers the next morning before work.

The Plumber came out and after evaluating the problem. I was told it would cost $700+ and soonest he could come back to perform the work would be in 1 week. Kind of rough when all the toilets are not working:-0

I understand that we have a labor shortage, why not mentioning the long lead time when we made the appointment? The company was happy to take the $59 to come out to do nothing.

I received a call from the Gm, he apologized and refunded me the $59. I truly appreciate the follow up!

*** July 2022 Update. *** 3rd call to Hawthorne for help with water problem. This time I was charged $499. to replace 7 inches of pipe, and there was still a drip coming from somewhere. Asked them to check again thinking it should have been caught on the first visit. They came out again and determined the drip was coming from the same pipe but in a different area so It would cost me $300 something more. Though they did negotiate it down to $200 something I opted to have someone else check. Before I could do that the remediation fellow said it was really coming from my hot water faucet in the bathroom. Needless to say, I didn't use Hawthorne, nor will I again.

I am so thankful to have found this company. We had a pipe valve explode at 430am and start spraying water all over my bathroom. From the first panicked call the lady in the office helped calm me down, told me to call the water company to shut off the water, and got our service flagged as an emergency making sure that someone was here before noon.they sent me a text with a picture of my plumber about an hour before he got to my place to make sure I would feel safe letting him in. The man who came to fix the leak was amazing and helpful. He took the time to explain exactly what had happened and how he was fixing it, he was also very kind to my kids while he was fixing things. The price was also great, way below what I had been quoted by other places. All told I would give them 6 stars out of 5.
