My heater stopped working and i called around to a few business’s and almost all weren’t open on the weekend. i called mccarver and they had someone come out less than an hour after setting up the appointment. chris was really knowledgeable and answered any questions that i had. the whole process was maybe 3 hours (including the time that chris went to go get the parts needing to be replaced) and my heater was fixed! real life saver, now my daughter and dog aren’t shaking anymore

The Technical representatives Chris and Vince Knight came out to identify a fault with the gas, instant water heater. He was quick to respond, on time, professional, left the workplace clean and dealt with the manufacturer well. Highly recommend the man and the company. I called in the morning and their technician Brett was there in the afternoon. He quickly repaired the AC unit and got it running in about 30 minutes. Brett was very professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this company for your HVAC needs.

McCarver Heating and cooling is probably the worst contractor I have ever worked with. Chris McCarver (the owner is rude and non-responsive). I needed a new compressor for my unit, he waited over 8 days before he called me. When he finally did, he did not even come for a free estimate. He asked to see a photo of the unit. I called the previous AC person, since I was not home and asked for a photo of the unit. I sent it on to McCarver and he showed up after another week. He was not wearing a mask while he was working on the unit. He attempted to install the compressor for 30 minutes and then called me up and announced that the photo sent was a different compressor from the one that was needed. He raised his voice and was complaining how I had him waste his time on this. I could not believe how rude he was. Then his assistant Christine sent a new estimate for the new compressor.
$2200 for the compressor.

$125 for freight
PLUS they were going to charge freight for the new unit that they ordered. If that doesn’t sound like a scam, I don’t know what does.

As you can imagine, we were not going to be punished for a good-faith mistake so we asked to have the whole job canceled. They advertise free estimates which begs the question, why didn't McCarver Mechanical provide a free estimate before ordering a part?

Unfortunately, McCarver forces customers into giving deposits. So I deposited $500. It took several emails and complaints to get $375 back. His office manager refused to refund us $125 back. Please avoid McCarver Mechanical at all costs.

McCarver Mechanical has responded to our review. Here is our response:

1. McCarver Mechanical decided to punish us for a good faith error that occurred by tacking an almost $250 to the new estimate for a new compressor. Chris McCarver huffed and puffed on the phone saying that he “wasted his time.” Coming to my place.
2. If McCarver Mechanical is a reputable and conscientious contractor, they would send someone over to look over the unit before ordering a part. We are after all dealing with dangerous gasses and it just shows their shoddy, “cut corners at all costs” nature that they ordered a part before confirming it was the right part.
3. Our complaint was not waiting for the part, it was waiting a week for them to contact use.
4. We have been accused of launching a smear campaign and nothing can be further from the truth. We let them know that if they didn’t make this right, we’d warn other consumers about working with such a company. I spoke to a very experienced contractor and he was shocked by their behavior, including tacking on freight costs for ordering a new part and for ordering the previous part. Moreover, he said he thought their freight costs were inflated.
5. I had to send them several emails before they gave me a partial refund.

Everybody makes mistakes and we’d never review a company that made a good faith mistake. We’ve had flooring companies and carpenters, who made disastrous mistakes such as creating a huge link when they attached the flooring to the toilet. On each occasion we forgave their errors and did not write a negative review because they apologized for making a mistake and made everything right. In the case of McCarver Mechanical they’d rather make a quick buck and fleece a customer rather than play the long game and earn loyalty.

I want to thank Chris, David and Nur from McCarver Mechanical Heating & Cooling! We recently used them to replace our original furnace (added a humidifier) and A/C system and additionally, our hot water heater, and we couldn’t be happier! We’re already seeing a savings on our bills after just the first month!

Chris came out assessed our needs and gave us three options to choose from to fit our budget. Christine, in the office, answered questions, gave us options for financing and was so friendly and helpful! We chose a payment plan and date that worked for us and they came out right away.

When they came to our house, they were very polite and respectful of our floors. They laid out tarps to protect all our floors. They started early, worked all day right through lunch and finished our job all in one day! They also took all the old parts away and cleaned up all their mess! Before they left, Nur ran a test run to assure the furnace worked as it should and walked us through, explaining how everything worked. He didn’t rush anything and was so patient, answering all our questions. Very nice and professional young man!

I would highly recommend using McCarver Mechanical Heating and Cooling! Not only did we get the best price from them, we got an EXCELLENT job done in a very timely manner.

Making an appointment on the phone with Theresa was simple and efficient. Brett, our technician was timely and very informative on what he thought needed to be fixed, and then he fixed it! It’s clear that McCarver is customer service oriented and it was as comforting to see Brett wear a face mask and foot coverings while in the home. We thought pricing was reasonable for the service provided.

I am very thankful for contacting McCarver Mechanical Heating and Cooling. My AC went out on Friday The 13th and called around Saturday for some quotes. This company was the most reasonable and very prompt to come out to help me. Adam was great, he was on time, professional, thorough and gave me a few options to resolve my issue. Now my AC is working better than ever and also looked over my furnace so Winter around the corner will be more tolerable.
