Dominick was absolutely WONDERFUL!! Knowledgeable, professional, presented his expertise…friendly, helpful, pleasant…. Definitely on his game. I am so glad that I called on this service in time of need. Got the contact locked in!

Dominick arrived promptly and was able to service my furnaces (2) within an hour! He explained everything to me with details and estimates where possible, and he made sure I understood what improvements Kaltec could make for us. I really appreciate his help, especially since I was able to work from home the whole time he was working.

Top to bottom A+ service! Scheduling was easy and spoke with a true professional. When the guys came out they were right on time; they were thorough with explaining everything; they were professional and friendly. Rates are definitely competitive too. I will definitely use Kaltec again! Great experience overall, thank you!

Called for boiler repair.
PROS: Super courteous dispatch. Squeezed me in for same day technician. Technician actually came when he said that he was going to come and called when he said he would. All very professional.

CONS: He was there all of 4 minutes before I started getting calls that I needed to come home from work to hear about "options". I said that I just wanted him to access and fix the expansion tank, which we had determined was the problem. I wish he had just been frank and said that he had no interest or ability (the boiler is in a tight space, not the easiest to access, so you have to be resourceful, but several other companies have done it, so I know it can be done) in repairing the expansion tank. Instead, he quoted me an outrageous price for the repair (they will likely argue it's fair, and that's fine). Then, he spent the majority of the time quoting me "options" --- which amounted to a $10,000 new system that I was welcome to finance over the course of 8 or 12 years.

While he was very kind and courteous, some of his sales tactics were misguided and misinformed and not at all in my best interest, given the age and value of my home and neighborhood.

I would be wary of using them again.
That is just my opinion and assessment based on my one experience.

** I opted not to pay the price that was quoted to me for the repair-- as I knew the cost of the parts, and could estimate the cost of the labor @ approx $150/hour. After calling two other companies, I discovered that their quote for repair was indeed, outrageous. ( $1000)

Dominick came out and was very professional, knowledgeable about what I had, and explained to me all my problems with potential solutions. Had no problem going over it all in detail and choosing the route to deal with it. I had some real issues and I believe in paying good money for it to be handled in the best way, and it was.

I had a leak in my furnace exhaust pipe. Kaltec was able to come out next day to assess the work and came out on a weekend to ensure the job was completed in a speedy and orderly fashion. Work was quick, the technicians were professional and knowledgeable, and I am happy with the results of the work.

Furnace went out, called them early morning and they were able to get us scheduled pretty quickly! It’s was during a heavy snow too! Fixed the issue and it’s been working great ever since. I’ve called kaltec whenever we need furnace maintenance. They always got it back working. (We could finally afford the permanent repair this last time). They also did a service check and clean on the AC unit after we moved in to our home.

I saw first hand what they did to my friend who used them. They agreed to a payment arrangement but secretly sent their technician to steal the AC circuit without his knowledge. Unfortunately for them, he was a car mechanic and that's how he figured it out whereas a normal person wouldn't know. When his wife called them to put them on the spot, they were lost for words because they were shocked that they found out. Beware, they steal the parts so you can call them to come fix and charge you more. If this is what they did behind the scenes for one person god knows what they do to other people.

The service technician himself did a great job.

What shocked me more was the price per pound for r22 Freon. I get that the stuff is rare these days but charging me 300 bucks per pound I think was a little excessive.

Dominic showed up earlier than planned (saving me some money on an after hours up charge!) , got right to business, was unfazed by my extremely rambunctious pack of dogs! He was courteous, professional and got me up and running in no time at all.
