I have been using SMO Energy for heating oil for a few years now when our other provider stopped delivering oil. Ever since the switch i have been throughly impressed, there app is super easy to use and if you have questions they will contact you in a timely manner and get your issued resolved in no time. I had a few billing questions and Malissa helped me same day with wonderful customer service! She answered my questions and went above and beyond. Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
Over the past few weeks I have tried multiple times to get in touch with someone over the phone, only to be left on hold for hours on end. When I request to be put on a queue to be called back at noon I receive a call back SEVEN hours later. SMO has been consistently late on deliveries, and when I request a delivery online through the new portal I'm told that we're not due for a delivery despite it being past the scheduled delivery date. Emailing SMO doesn't work either as I'm told the email address isn't active. The online chat is also defunct as there are no agents on the other end. I see that SMO has responded to several reviews that they expect call volumes to return to normal soon however I've been struggling with this issue for weeks now. Is there ANY way to speak with someone at SMO without waiting an entire day for a call back or at the bare minimum request a delivery???
Keith Ketterman is an outstanding technician! He is courteous, professional and highly competent. He takes time to explain and show the work he has done. He has come on several occasions over an extended period of time. He always performs his job well and works quickly. His work is done correctly the first time -- no need for call backs to fix mistakes. My husband and I have recognized and appreciated his technical skills and the support of the SMO service team.
SERVICE TECHNICIAN ALFREDO WAS EXCELLENT ! HE DID A THOROUGH MAINTENANCE of THE A/C & SPRAYED THE COILS TO PREVENT EROSION, MOLD & RUST, CLEANED THE CONDENSATION PUMP & CHECKED THE SYSTEM FOR LEAKS. HE QUICKLY FIXED THE LEAK THAT WAS DRIPPING FROM SOMEWHERE. FOR 3 YEARS HE’s MAINTAINED OUR HVAC SYSTEM & HAS ALWAYS DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB!
Here is how they treat a 90 year old disabled woman without heat who has been a customer for 67 years who paid $342 for a maintenance agreement: First, sit in a phone que for more than forty minutes - twice with no response. Second, go to their business and find note on door stating, "Customers are not being received due to COVID." Third, being told by an employee coming back from her lunch break, that the earliest we can come out was six days later. Fourth, when she had to pay $200 to another contractor for the covered repair, she was told no adjustment could be made to compensate her for the expense she incurred and was told, "if it makes you feel any better, had you not had a maintenance plan you would have waited 9 days for emergency service."
I received excellent customer service at SMO from Jennifer. She was friendly, efficient, and went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met. I also was very satisfied with the work performed by the technician, Derrick Williams.
Over 1 hour on hold to speak with someone and even after an hour I still didn't speak with anyone. Getting in touch with anyone at SMO is almost impossible.
Worst of all they changed their online account system losing all of my log on information in the process requiring I set up a new account - who does this???! Only problem is if you dont have access to your account number there is NO WAY to set up a new account in this new system requiring that you call their office. The only problem with that is you can't get through!
Their Live chat doesn't work and there is no email address to contact them at! Making it difficult for your customers to reach you says allot about a company's view on customer service.
Poor oversight and execution by management. And aside from their high oil delivery prices they wonder why I am firing them.
My elderly grandmother who has medical and mobility issues called to have gear oil delivered for the up coming winter. When the driver arrived he refused to fill her oil tank stating that there was no air vent , it was explained to him that it was located in side he refused to check and wort a ticket for repairs to be made to have a air vent installed and refused to go into the home to locate the event. This is absolutely in professional due to tie happening over the weekend we will Be calling on Monday to file a formal complaint and attempt to have this issue resolved.
On October 27th we were scheduled for an annual service for our heating system and hot water heater between 8 and 12. Chamar called at to let us know they would be arriving within an hour. Chamar and Tyrone arrived they checked out the area where they would be working. Both were very professional and very polite. Our house has heater, water heater washer and dryer all located in a rather tight space. They are fully pulled out the washer so Tyrone could begin the maintenance of heating system and he did a masterful job. He checked and cleaned parts we had never observed anyone cleaning before including removing and cleaning vent pipe. Great job. Chamar check the tank and then began the job of draining the hot water heater. Not and easy job in the tight space. He almost stood on his head to connect the drain hose. Both Chamar and Tyrone were very willing to go the extra mile to do their job. They returned everything to its place and the space was clean up before they departed. A job well done.
