We’ve had Dutchman come out a couple times now since moving into our new home and both times we’ve received fantastic service. There’s always a friendly voice on the other end of the phone to take appointments and our tech, Matt, is always on time and addresses all of my questions. Pricing is competitive and we’re happy with our service so we’ll continue to use them for our heating and a/c needs.

BAIT AND SWITCH?
On 6/14/23 I received two proposals for air conditioners from Mark Lennon of Dutchman Heating and Cooling. After reviewing the proposal I chose one which suited my needs. The installation price was presented as $ 5215. I called Dutchman on 6/22/23 to arrange for the purchase and make the required down payment. When I asked the woman who answered the phone what I needed to do, she said she had to check to see if the price is still the same. A curious comment. After being on hold for a while Mark Lennon answered and told me he had quoted me the price for a 3 ton unit instead of the 3.5 ton unit listed in his proposal and that the “price was $5688”, a $473 increase. When I asked if he expected me to pay for his “error” he blandly said “the price is $5688.” When i said it looks like a “bait and switch” he again said “the price is $5688.” Our conversation ended there. At first it seemed like a good company, now, not so much. Buyer beware.

I am a relatively new customer to Dutchman Heating and Cooling. In the past year they have installed a new a/c unit and done general heating maintenance. In a word, they are great. Communication with their office before and after service is always positive and their technicians are top notch. Recently Clint came out for general furnace maintenance. He did a very thorough job and also provided some good recommendations and tips. My dealings with Dutchman have been very positive. They are a local business who work hard to give their customers a positive experience.

We needed to replace a 34 year-old gas wall furnace in a room addition. We found that a split-unit heat pump a/c would work best due to low emissions, low noise level, and having a/c. However, we would also need electrical work done thus becoming more expensive. Dutchman explained the advantages and the installation process very clearly and answered all questions. They also recommended an electrician who did a fine job at a reasonable cost. After the job was done, the office manager informed me that she found that Naperville Electric Utility had a $600 electricity bill rebate available. I had not known about that before. She emailed the application form to me and I then applied for that successfully. In addition, I believe that there is a federal income tax credit available. When putting all that together, my quiet, low emission heat pump a/c net cost was only $270 more than just replacing the gas wall furnace with another one with no air conditioner. We are very pleased with the product and the service from Dutchman.

Great company. Good people, great value. We are part of their preferred customer plan, totally worth it. Pay up front, but it’s actually a discount on your yearly maintenance and you get discount and priority service. Highly recommend!

Dutchman has been great to work with. I always receive a call a few days prior to my appt, plus a call the day before as well. The technician, Clint, is very professional, answers any questions I have and takes time to explain everything he is doing.

I have used Dutchman for years because they always show me a way to save money. I also have a favorite employee Matt. The work they do is always professional. I have purchased a furnace and AC system in a former house. They came back to to check their work. I don’t offer trust to many businesses I use but Dutchman has earned it.
