Wow. Sergio (The owner of Brother's Heating and Cooling) is one of the most professional people I have had the pleasure to work with. He responded incredibly quickly and was able to address a heating maintenance issue with a high level of skill and technical expertise. I loved that he communicated in a clear and direct way and also took the time to explain what the problem was. I will be using him for all my future heating/cooling needs. Incredible service! This business saved me from spending a night without my furnace working. They rapidly responded to my call and paid me a visit after hours. The owner educated me on things to do to maintain my furnace clean and keep me and my family safe. He also ensured that there wouldn't be any carbon monoxide fumes coming back into my home from clogged debris in my chimney. I've never experienced this type of service before from any other HVAC business. I highly recommend their business for any job and will be working with them in the near future. We had a minor problem with a faulty case coil I purchased from Johnstone Supply store # 565, but my warranty within time limit , solved the problem.

These guys are super responsive and professional. They went above and beyond to get our furnace checked out and ultimately replaced quickly. Sergio even stopped by the day after service to make sure we had a properly installed, functioning carbon monoxide detector near the furnace. We will definitely use them again when the need arises!

Sergio is the best of the best in Chicago for HVAC! An absolute pleasure to have him work on my heating and cooling. He went above and beyond on an AC call finding a seriously dangerous issue a previous homeowner or HVAC company had left behind. Our AC malfunctioned two days before it was going to hit 95 degrees. We called a big box repair company, who sent someone to our property on a Sunday, but this person was off on the diagnosis. We called Sergio, the owner of Brothers. He had done some work for us in 2016 and we were happy with it. Despite owning multiple repair companies, he typically does much of the work himself, and takes pride in it. Not surprisingly, he came by Sunday night and stayed for ~3 hours to diagnose the problem. He sent us a quote on Monday, which was fair, we accepted it, so he returned late Monday night after waiting out severe weather to get the repair started. This enabled him and his son to get the unit installed on Tuesday morning, when the heat arrived. They worked 3 hrs straight in 95+ to get the new unit installed. Sergio explains the rationale for every thing he does; we knew we were in good, honest hands. The person who recommended Sergio had said "Sergio is the Mercedes Benz," or that we could go for cheaper and less capable. Sergio may not be the cheapest, but he does not overcharge, and, in terms of quality, he is definitely the Benz of HVAC repair.

My furnace was making a loud noise late last week and so I called Sergio as he was recommended by the guy who cleaned my vents. I was hopeful that he could diagnose the issue and give me a fair quote.

When he got to my condo he told me that there were a few different issues. The HVAC system is old and talked me through a few of the things he thought needed to be fixed. He told me that I had two options and gave me verbal quotes for both.

First option was repairing the parts that needed to be fixed. He said this would take approximately 2 weeks because the furnace is so old and the parts he would need aren’t readily available anywhere. The cost for labor and parts for this option would be $4,000 (he remembers telling me $2,500 but I didn’t get this quote in writing).

The second option was to replace the whole HVAC system. He quoted me $27,500. My condo is 800 sq ft. I did get this quote in writing via an emailed proposal.

This number seemed extremely high so I did some research and got a few other quotes. Each company quoted me less than $7000 to replace the entire HVAC system. I ended up having another HVAC company come in the following day and he said that the blower motor was the only issue and replaced the part within 24hrs. It cost me $800.

Sergio was kind and I appreciated that he made the time to come look at my furnace. I trust that he is very knowledgable and that there was truth to what he was telling me about my very old furnace. I'm aware that replacing an HVAC system is time consuming and requires expert knowledge. However, I can't get past the $27,500 quote.

A few days ago, there was a flood in my basement and I called the previous company who installed our furnace that we were not getting any heat. The next day when the man was supposed to come, he cursed me out on the phone that he quit and he does not like working Saturdays. He was so unprofessional, so I looked on Google and found Sergio. The moment we talked, he seemed nice and quickly told me he would visit the house after his last call. He showed up around 8 PM and took a look at it. He showed me the damage the flood had done and all the work the previous installer did and why it was bound to go bad. So he quoted me and I paid him half of his deposit because the bank was closed to withdraw over $500. He worked with me the next 2 days telling me where he would get the parts, the cost of each part, and what his would consisted of. He installed the Gas Valve and a few other parts, but then he found other problems that he did not forsee. He ended up helping me fix it by just getting new parts. Now the heater works great. I would definitely recommend this place. Thank you Sergio, I will be calling you back for our future work here at the house!

Sergio and his crew were extremely accommodating- they even came out on a Sunday! Sergio was honest, very knowledgeable, and was just as invested in solving my A/C problem as I was. He came to my home almost immediately knowing it was extremely hot outside and my A/C was not working. He then came out on a Sunday with his son and another crew member and had my A/C up and running within 40 minutes.
