Had to come to terms that our AC system was finally on its last leg. Had previously worked with Windy City on my furnace this past winter and knew they would be reliable to get the job done when it came to such a large purchase. Called and spoke with Jaime had a Tech out the next day and a new A.C. system running by 5 o'clock that evening. Both Jaime and Jackie made the process so easy for us and we couldn't have been happieršŸ˜Š

My A/C units for my home failed several weeks ago and the guys from Windy City were out the next day to help fix it. I ultimately needed new units as mine were quite old and they did a great job with it. Tom and the crew were very professional and explained everything as they completed it. I would definitely recommend them.

Very positive review with this company. They were very knowledgeable, courteous, and even called to push up my estimate because of the urgency of my need. Didnā€™t try to upsell me on anything but explained to me everything I needed to know in a very clear manner. Very happy and will use this company for all my HVAC needs in the future

I was beating my head against the wall with OTHER companies trying to take advantage of me with my heating & a/c. Tom, the owner of Windy City came out after 7:00 pm on a Friday night, which was only a couple of hours after I called. He didn't try to OVER SELL the system and there was no "buy now" pressure. This was one of the best companies I've ever dealt with for a big ticket item. There were there when they said they would be, were very cordial, professional, and I simply cannot say enough positive things about them!! I highly recommend them!! GREAT JOB GUYS!!

4/20/18, my ejector pump was malfunctioning. When I went to investigate, I found that my 2-yr old hot water heater was leaking. I called Windy City and Ken came out to investigate. Ken took pictures & told me that he and his manager would be out 4/23/18 to investigate & he and the manager would replace my water heater. The hot water heater was still under warranty, but I would have to pay for the labor. The charge for the inspection was $65. After Ken left, the plumber adjusted the float in the ejector pump and it was functioning properly.

4/23/18 Tom, called. I was shocked when he said that he reviewed the photos & that the water heater would be replaced on 4/24/18. A while later, I called & talked to Jamie (the lady that answers the phone) asking if, like in the past, the $65 I spent on Friday would be applied to cost of the installation. She said said that because it was warranty work, the $65 would not be applied. I was not happy, but again - what was I going to do? I needed the defective heater replaced.

4/24/18, the installers drained old heater & replaced water heater. As the new water heater was filling up my mom mentioned to the installers that the reason we found out the water heater was leaking was because ejector pump needed repair. My mom said the installers looked at each other with a surprised look on their faces. She asked if they drained the tank into the ejector pit. They told her yes, that it was standard procedure.

Well guess what? The ejector pump started malfunctioning again. I immediately called Windy City. Jamie took the message and said Tom would return my call. Tom asked how I was doing and I told him, "I've been better". I explained the situation and asked what Windy City was going to do. He told me it wasn't their problem. That draining the tank into the ejector pump pit was standard procedure. I told him that I understood that but that the pump was functioning properly before the installation of the hot water tank. He replied that the plumber didn't do his job and that we were LUCKY that the installers drained it into the ejector pump because now I know there is an issue w/ pump.

LUCKY?!?!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!?!?! I told him I understand standard procedure but the fact that the pump was working prior to installation, I felt Windy City was somewhat responsible. Yes, I got angry. Yes I started to talk loudly. I feel I was totally justified in my response. Windy City contributed to the 2nd malfunction of the ejector pump. No one knows if the pump would have worked properly for another few years, months, days, hours, minutes ... but for him to tell me I was LUCKY! Tom continued to talk over me, saying I was lucky. I guess I am SO LUCKY that Windy City installed a defective water heater 2 yrs ago. I am SO LUCKY that I had to pay for them to install replacement water heater after just paying for installation 2 yrs prior. I am LUCKY that I had to pay an additional $65 for the initial investigation because they don't apply that to "warranty work".

I can't stress enough that Windy City Mechanical does not stand behind their work. Tom, should NOT have anything to do with customer service. Tom was condescending/arrogant from the first phone call. His attitude/demeanor was totally unprofessional, rude and his comments were dripping w/misogyny.

I did tell Tom that I would find EVERY social media site to post about my experience. His response, "Go ahead". I'm starting to think I wasn't the first customer to have this sort of experience with him and Windy City and I'm positive I won't be the last.

You are right in saying I was upset. And as I previously stated, the ejector pipe might have only lasted a few days ... but then again, it might have lasted years. When I asked what Windy City was going to do about it, you said nothing. That's when I got upset. And why on earth would I take any of your calls AFTER you had said your company was going to do NOTHING.

I was wrongly charged a service call $85 today to check on my heating that was cleaned and inspected last Saturday (10/21). Yesterday and this morning, my furnace was short cycling: it would stay on for 2.5 minutes and off for 30 sec even though it was either 2 or 5 degrees away from the desired temperature. I called Windy City to report it and April (reception) said that they can send a technician out to check it. I asked her if I had to pay for them to come and she answered: "No, only for the part that needs to be replaced (if ever)". No further explanation. (Note that a similar issue happened in the past and they found that the flame sensor was not cleaned properly in the last service.) Ken, who did the cleaning last Saturday, came again today to check on it. However, the furnace did not do the frequent turning on-off and the issue was not reproduced at the time of the visit. Ken was charging me the service call and I told him about my conversation with April. After speaking to her again on the phone, she insisted that I misunderstood her. My question was clear and the answer I got did not have any room for any misunderstanding. I could have been given a clearer answer: "Yes, you will be charged a service fee" or better yet, they could have had the technician first speak to me about the issue I was experiencing with the furnace and help me troubleshoot. This way I could have avoided paying $85 for them to come and fix nothing.

While cutting down weeds around my unit I cut what turned out to be a much needed wire lol. Windy City was able to accommodate my schedule and they were even able to fit me in early.
