I appreciated that the man they sent was very knowledgeable and able to explain to me all about my situation, what he was going to do to have everything up and running and steps that could be taken to keep everything in working order. He was professional and courteous in doing all he said and had my problem fixed, my unit up and running just as he said. He explained everything he did, gave me space for questions that he was able to answer to my satisfaction. I am extremely satisfied with his visit and success in bringing my unit back on line and working fine. I highly recommend this company and their service, top notch. I will be getting a service maintenance contract to keep everything up and running.

Kyle is a savior. Really! A/C out on a Friday before holiday. 85 degrees inside home and 63 percent humidity. He walked in, introduced himself and went to work. Explained to me what he was doing, went through a series of troubleshooting and testing found the problem and fixed it all before 430pm. Super nice, very respectful. I am thankful I called at 630am and they were able to get out to me the same day and fix the unit. Thank you Old South. :)

On time and professional. Protected our house and kept everything cleaned. Did just as we asked and made the change out without problems.

On site within 3 hours of call for service. technican kept me informed on arrival, was courteous, prompt, and troubleshot my system quickly. He identified the issue, explained it to me in simple to understand terms, and got the part ordered and setup a follow up in record time. Will definitely be using old coast in the future for my HVAC system repairs.

I reached out to Old Coast as my HVAC system was blowing air, but it wasn't cold. A tech came out same day and I mentioned that I had to leave town, but my wife would wrap things up with him and reach out to me if it isn't a cheap easy fix. The tech determined that we needed a new compressor which would cost around $4,300. We paid the diagnostic fee of $135 and got a 2nd opinion. Another company had a tech come out next day with an $89 diagnostic fee and it took him all of 5 minutes to determine it was the capacitor not compressor. The difference.... $200~ all in job with diagnostic fee vs. $4,300 Old Coast Diagnosed us with. The tech from the other company made the repair in 15 minutes and even showed my wife the broken part he replaced. I then called Old Coast and requested a refund for their diagnosis as they clearly diagnosed our system wrong and did not provide accurate service. I had to follow up a couple times, but did get my money back. Moral of the story... get a 2nd opinion. I will say everyone I worked with was nice and apologized for the mistake.

I called Old Coast HVAC about a thermostat that was not working properly and the temps were going to be freezing the next few days. When I called they said that they could send a tech out that day and the service charge would be $135 and I agreed to that. When the tech was here and checking on the HVAC and thermostat I asked about thermostat prices he said they have one that they carry and recommend and he said was $125 and I don't remember the exact amount of labor but he said 100 something. After his diagnosis of the HVAC and thermostat, he determined I needed a new stat. I said what will the actual total cost be and he stepped outside to call his office and when he came back into my house he told me the cost would be $605 and I had already paid the service fee. I was blown away at the cost of installing an inexpensive stat and a 10-15 min installation, but I had to agree because it was going down to 32 degrees that night and I had nowhere to go. Also, I was afraid to question the tech because I was afraid he'd leave. The next day I called their office and was given one excuse after another of why it cost 605 for a stat that retails for 124-125 was so high. I did not agree to a warranty and I was not told it was an emergency call because it was during their regular business hours. I sincerely feel that they took advantage of the situation and the fact I'm a senior citizen. I asked two friends out-of-state that have worked as contractors and both said wow, bummer, outrageous. There are plenty of these companies in Savannah so do your homework and please don't get taken advantage of as I did. I did call them about this and was supposed to get a call back from the manager, but of course I didn't get a call back.

Update
I received a call back after I posted this review from a manager and he did apologize and explained that the office gave the tech the wrong amount. The charge was $375, but IMO still a bit high according to my research and talking with contractors. However, a far cry from $605 and I did get an apology plus the manager was very nice and polite.

I had a new heating and air system installed by Oscar and his crew. Oscar explained what they were going to do and immediately got to work. I've had many experiences with contractors and service companies and I have to say this was the best one yet! They worked hard, were professional, and very careful regarding my property and walls. I've had damage from other companies and it was very refreshing to see this level of care and respect. The cleanup was top notch too! I've been an Old Coast customer for five years and I've never been disappointed. I highly recommend Oscar and his crew.
