    This company came VERY highly recommended to me. While they were polite and sent someone out every time I called, they never fixed my problem--just wanted to sell me additional maintenance services rather than the needed repair. They also repeatedly told me they'd come out between 8 and 8:30 in the morning, but then didn't show at that time and rescheduled me for between 1p and 6p. After having the system go down 3 or 4 times during the hottest summer days, I called another company that came the next day and actually fixed the problem. When I contacted J.C. Cassidy to say that I didn't want them to perform the final maintenance that I contracted for and asked for a prorated rebate of what I paid, no one responded. I emailed them explaining why I felt I was entitled to the rebate. Three company employees clicked on the "read receipt," but no one responded, and I didn't get the rebate. Here most of the text of the email I sent to them (I had to remove a paragraph because of the word limit):

    Your company came highly recommended to me, so I’m disappointed in the service I received. While the schedulers and technicians were all polite and a technician always came out when I called, the timeframe for the service call was misleading and unacceptably broad; and, more importantly, my air conditioning kept going out between service calls. One technician contradicted the other in terms of what needed to be done. Meanwhile, during the hottest days of summer, I was without air, and I kept having to cancel other appointments because I had to be home from 1 until 6, even though at times I was told that my appointment was between 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
    The third of my four scheduled maintenance calls was in October. The day before I received 4 calls stressing that I needed to expect the technician between 8 and 8:30a. At 8:45, I called to say no one had arrived. The person said she didn’t know why I expected someone at that time because she saw I was scheduled for 1 -6. Again, I received 4 calls reminding me of the 8 – 8:30a service.
    The technician arrived around 1:30p. He did the routine maintenance. At 5p, when I returned from my walk, the air was off. I called and was told someone would come out the next day between 1 and 6. That person came out, got it running again, but it went out again in an hour. Someone else came back and showed me how to reset the float switch. An hour after he left, it went out again. I reset the float switch; but, when I saw a wet stain on my ceiling, I turned it off.
    From February until October, I had persistent problems. One technician told me I needed a new line and someone would call to schedule an appointment to come out to give me a quote—no one ever did. I called to ask about this appointment and was told someone would get back to me—no one ever did.
    Another technician told me I needed to use D-scale in the line. The next technician said that was the worst thing to use. When I asked to speak to a supervisor to find out which was correct, the supervisor told me D-scale should never be used.

    The last technician said I probably needed a pump, which would cost about $500.
    At no time between February and October, despite so many callbacks, did Cassidy send out someone who actually diagnosed the problem and presented a solution.

    Please send me a confirmation that my contract has been cancelled and will not be automatically renewed. Please let me know if I will receive a prorated portion of the cost of the current contract.

    TECH LEFT WITHOUT FIXING OUR UNIT after telling us it was a clogged drain (it was cleaned a month ago under their contract). He tried to get us to sign-off that our system is now working. We told him it clearly is not and he left. Its 78 degrees in our 1500sq foot apartment and the temp hasn't moved in hours. Its a newer unit in great condition according the Cassidy. When we call their emergency service number it goes right to a recording that their voice mail box is full. Unbelievably poor service. We will cancel our contract assuming they ever answer their phone. Looking for a reliable service provider.

    One of the employees name Cassidy is super rude and trying to scam you into paying $114 just for a service call. The money doesn’t even go towards work that they provide. No customer service and no empathy whatsoever from this company I would stay away!

    Cassidy has been extremely unreliable in the 4 experiences I have had with them over the past 7 months. You will not be able to get an expected time frame of arrival if you schedule them to come to your residence. They will assure you over the phone and e-mail that you are a priority and the earliest scheduled appointment of the day, yet on two occasions they left me waiting without ever actually showing up to my residence nor calling back to inform me of their inability to make it over. I recommend avoiding them at all costs. Instead, contact a different company as you will undoubtably have to do so after they explain to you why they can’t resolve issues with your AC.

    They’re just a total mess and in all honesty do not deserve your business.

    Cassidy has for years serviced my a/c quarterly. They show up on time and do a very thorough job. The unit is over 17 years old, and I had them replace it last Friday, both the air handler and compressor, with a Carrier. They did the entire job-removing the old unit/installing the new one, with a new thermostat in 4 hours. It works perfectly. When the job was finished, a quality control tech came out inspected the installers' work. Impressive!

    I’ve been using John Cassidy for a year now, with no complaints. They serviced my AC today and didn’t check the drain line, so now AC won’t work and they would only send someone if I pay $155 plus parts and service. This is a terrible way to handle this situation. Would never recommend to use them.

    Do not recommend this company. Customer service is lacking and extremely unfriendly. My A/C was broken and they give me a run around story of when it will be fixed. The problem was diagnosed and I called multiple times to get an update on the parts and service. They had no answers and were actually rude about it when I asked for an update. The technician heard his office speak to me and was actually embarrassed how rude they were talking to me. Asked for a manager/supervisor and they told me no one was available. The parts person was too busy to look into my file (keeping in mind at that time we did not have A/C for 24 hours in 90 degree weather). Do not use this company- very unprofessional staff. Not worth your time or money

    My mom is 91 years old. I was greatly concerned because it was very warm in the house. I had Martin‘s number who sold us the unit originally and I reached out to him since it was the weekend and I didn’t get a response from the people on call. He came right over and helped my mom I was at work at the time. I really appreciate the fact that he came over on a Saturday morning to make sure she was OK and take care of a clogged drain and everything worked fine after that. Martin absolutely goes beyond and I hope the company realizes this I’m sure they must as he’s been with the company a very long time. He was wonderful with my mom he shows care he absolutely knows what to do and we just really appreciate him so very much! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Martin, you are absolutely the best!
