I am a single mom and I bought a new home recently and about 2 months after my A/C system went out. I called 6 Heating & Air companies and 1 out of the 6 helped me out tremendously. All except for 1 pressured me so much and it was stressing me out. When I talked to the salesman Duane at Bertie he explained EVERYTHING to me step by step and did not push me to do anything. So when the service techs came out to install my new system they were very thorough, efficient, & friendly. Anytime I have needed anything they were always there, which I absolutely love because I didn't get this from the other companies. I would highly recommend Bertie Heating & Air to anyone that needs any type of A/C work done. Thank-you Bertie Heating & Air!!!!!!

Great company, customer service is A+++. Specifically the technician that came out, (Gus) I believe was his name, very respectful and courteous even after my dog hugged his leg. He educated me on how to use and program my thermostat and to set the schedules because sometimes in Florida you just need heating one part of the day and cooling the other part of the day, ( yea I'm that guy)! Will always use Bertie. Lifelong customer... Thank you Bertie and Gus!

We recently purchased an older home and installed a new washer and dryer. We quickly noticed that it took 90 minutes or more to dry a load of clothes. Gerald came out and explained why the existing dryer vent was causing the issue. Apparently the vent pipe was too small, too long and had too many elbows. The folks at Bertie Air installed a new, properly sized, dryer vent pipe in just a couple hours. The guys were pleasant, professional and left my laundry room cleaner than when they arrived. The best part is that I can dry a load of jeans in about 35 minutes now! Plus, our electric bill has gone down. We would highly recommend the folks at Bertie Air.

but I am compelled to share my exceptional experience as a customer of Bertie Heating & Air. Our situation was very challenging, but all of the folks that helped us at Bertie's were patient, professional and helpful. Management went above and beyond to expedite service and solve our problem. I would recommend Bertie's to everyone!

Bertie's technicians just completed the replacement of a 20+yo AC system at my parents home. April of 2015 my Archer FL house HVAC system died. I hired Bertie for 1- good reputation, 2- known high quality Trane brand and 3- solid warranty. At the time they also convinced me to replace all the copper tubing saying it would "increase longevity of the system". It is now 16 months later and the system failed Friday night--motor suspected. While it's there in the fine type of their estimate, buyer needs to beware they will only honor warranties M-F business hours...if you work, you will discover or have time to meet with them when they will not honor the warranty. They tell me they will charge a $140 trip charge and without looking have assured labor will exceed $350. Imagine that: a $5200 system installed with $650 worth of copper to assure longevity and this is the level of non-service they provide 16 months later.
To compare, I just called another local vendor who did not install the system. They will honor the 10 year parts/compressor warranty and will service the unit today with far lower trip charge and don't expect labor to go over $250.
Moral of the story: Bertie used to have a fantastic reputation but don't seem to uphold that anymore. If you choose them 1- be aware of a warranty that won't be honored when you need it most 2- a $140 trip charge for warrantied work and 3- a company that does not have the professional pride to simply "do the right thing."
ADDENDUM: Bertie can pass it off to the Management company for not delivering the correct message, but I called Bertie myself to confirm and got the same list of charges ($140 plus $350 or more)...but maybe Bertie doesn't know exactly whom they spoke to: Today, November 2, I received a voice mail from Bertie asking to schedule a maintenance visit on my system still under warranty with them. I called...the company has no awareness that the event in August ever happened. WOW.

New home w/ an A/C unit that never worked properly; the original installer said that no A/C unit would ever cool lower than 75 degrees. Jim was at my house for less than 5 minutes and found the problem. His crew fixed it quickly at a great price. Now our A/C cool correctly and we can enjoy our house. Can't say enough about this company; I wouldn't hesitate to refer them to friends and family!

We recently hired Bertie to service and clean our AC unit and to recommend ideas to save energy with our current system. Jon was the technician and he was the most knowledgeable technician that I've ever worked with- he explained everything he was doing using terminology that non-ac experts could understand, which lead us to feel like we could actually understand what needed to be done and why. Very pleased- will use again.

New HVAC installed less than 1year ago. Have called more than once about inconsistencies in room temperatures. All they did was check air in front of thermostat in living room. Did not check air temps in bedrooms which are the rooms I complained about. I also complained that I have to turn thermostat down much lower than before new unit in order to be comfortable. Several times complained about mildew I had never seen in over 20 years of living here. I have the system that supposedly controls humidity. It wasn’t cheap. I was promised someone would call me about the duct work to the bedrooms to see if it’s sized properly. No one even called.
I’ve been with BERTIE for over 20 years.
They just charged me $95 for this service call and this new unit is less than a year old.
Their Satisfaction Guarantee is BS.
