Technician Nick diagnosed and repaired my AC problem. It was a bad air handler blower motor. He was friendly and explained to me what the problem was and how he troubleshooted the bad motor. I would not hesitate to request Nick for any AC work that I may need in the future.

I was charged for a diagnostic visit and was charged $129. Parts were ordered and I was told that it would cost $325 for the repair which I agreed to. A different technician was sent. The technician said that I now needed a new motor for an additional $550 the a new fan blades for another $198. He said he had located the part but had to call his boss to see if he would let him go get it. The boss said no and that they would have to come back three days later. At that point I cancelled everything and told the technician to leave.

Some background to the story...I live in front of the ocean and my unit had rustled a bit due to the salt water. A part had rusted that caused the cooling fan on the outside unit to go out of alignment. The motor and fan were fine and working. I also have experience fixing A/C systems when I was younger. Unfortunately, today many of the A/C companies pay their technicians commission up selling their customers. I believe that that is what happened in my case, although I don't know with certainty.

Either way the first technician should have diagnosed the total problem and ordered all the necessary parts instead of someone else coming in to then determine the true extent of the issue. Then you would expect that they would apply the diagnosic visit fee towards the repair. They did no such thing. I felt like I was being nickel and dimed to take advantage that I had been going without A/C for almost 2 weeks.

We have been having issues with our A/C not cooling effectively. Robert Allen and a technician came out and discovered a freon leak. They took the time to explain our options and the pros and cons of each option. They were both very knowledgeable, professional and pleasant to deal with. I highly reccomend Grimes A/C.

I described my issue with the Service Mgr., Scott, and he immediately diagnosed the problem and said he would send a technician over to resolve it. Two hours later the technician (Danny) arrived and made the necessary repairs in short time. In addition to the repairs he took the time to explain what and why he was doing. He also gave me tips on how to maintain my system and answered all my question. Both Scott and Danny were very professional, knowledgeable and proficient! I give Scott and Danny the highest rating possible and recommend them to anyone having HVAC issues. They are very trustworthy and reliable!

The technician was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. The service call ended in a prompt response to our non-working A/C. It may be a temporary fix but we'll definitely use and refer Grimes going forward.

I haven’t always been happy with Grimes but, the gentleman that was here by the name of Joel knew what he was doing and thorough. I have not been so happy with a couple of other men that works for Grimes. Also the new thermostat that had been installed previously which to this day didn’t need changing, Joel fixed it because it still was reading wrong. Thank you Joel.

We had Robert out to give us an estimate. He did a fantastic job of being on time and presenting the information to my wife so she could relay it to me while I was at work. We confirmed everything on Friday and they came out the next Monday morning to install the unit! Caleb and Josh came out on time and did an amazing job on the install! The only thing they didn't have was the UV light. A tech came out today (Tuesday) and installed that! These guys are fast, affordable, and professional. My 2 year old son was amazed by the installers and kept following them around. He even gave them fist bumps before they left.

You're not going to find a better A/C company than this. We will use them for all our A/C needs and recommend them to everyone!
