Just wanted to give a big shout out to Air-Ref Co. Inc !! Our A/C finally died on us this past weekend after 20 long years of keeping our home cool. I'm so lucky to have the best A/C company, Air-Ref, in town! The past 6 years or so they have helped maintain our old unit until its very last day by properly maintaining it. And when that day came this weekend, they helped us find the best fit for our home and budget. This company has great employees, great service, great owners, it's been around for over 39 years, the people here know what their doing!

This is the worst AC company I have ever used. Air Ref serviced my AC in early August 2022. I was away in the beginning of September 2022 and when I came home and walked into my house a 1.5 Square foot patch of my kitchen ceiling plaster had fallen on the stove, counter, and floor. The AC was off, and the house smelled like damp plaster.
It turns out that the drain line was not properly cleaned out and the AC unit overflowed. The Air Ref tech came out to fix this said that the drain line was not properly cleaned out and he proceeded to correct it.
It was not Air Ref’s fault that the unit was not properly installed by the developer. It was on a sheetrock box without a drain pan and/or a proper overflow switch. However, Air Ref had been servicing that unit for multiple years. I had multiple service contracts for 3 properties I own.
Over the next 3-4 months, I made at least 10 phone calls and registered my complaint to the receptionist/service booker, asking to speak to the owner. Each time I was told someone would get back to me. Nobody ever did.
Finally, I got Kevin, the service manager, on the phone. I stated that I just wanted Air Ref to take some responsibility to properly install the Air Handler on a stand with a pan and overflow switch which I would pay for as well as repairing my kitchen ceiling. This took about 5 or 6 conversations.
On January 9th Air Ref sent an estimate to replace my system on a stand with a pan and float switch for $9,993, giving me a credit for the problems I incurred. That estimate was $2,000 more than the other estimate I received for the same exact installation.
Air Ref sucks. They have terrible customer service. The owner hides behind his receptionist and Kevin, his service manager, who is incompetent.

We have used Air Ref for years as they are the most professional.
Our serviceman today for maintenance was the most courteous, professional and perfectionist ever. He explained what he was doing and beyond knowledgeable.
Great company and great tech support!

Technician called to inform me of his arrival time. He was happy to go over questions I had and instructions I gave for each a/c unit. He also called to go over findings and to let me know he was done.

Wow... I couldn't believe it!! They arrived an hour before estimated time, this never happens! Also, the technician Aaron was a pro...he was very friendly and he completed the work extremely fast and honest, which was great because it was starting to get extremely hot inside. The prices were reasonable and I highly recommend Air-Ref!! And now the Pug can finally take a nap 😂😂..Pugs don't do well with the heat which is why I was so happy they arrived an hour early.

I just had Air-Ref service my A/C unit here at Hunters Run. Their technician was terrific. His name is Christian. He was on time, professional, very skilled and exceptionally thorough. He checked every detail of my unit making sure it was working 100%. So glad I called Air-Ref for service. Highly recommend them

Air-Ref has been reliable, helpful and trustworthy. We’ve had them maintain our air conditioning and heating unit in the condo we live in. They also do other units in our building. The staff is professional, friendly, knowledgeable. I always tip the technicians to show appreciation. Keep these guys employed because in Florida you need help maintaining air conditioning units year round!

I installed my new AC new unit with Air Ref about six months, fair installation . I have a twice a year maintenance plan with them. techs were friendly and professional. Techs Robinson and Gonzalo are professional and do a great job on first service maintenance.

My issue was that the heat function was not working.
The tech spent 4 hours. During that time, he complained about the air handler , that it was upside down, so he was confused. But that is the proper configuration for down draft. That the wiring is all wrong. I told him everything was working except the heat, and it worked last year with that wiring. He had to call his supervisor to talk him through the job. His boss said he should have called much sooner. He replaced a component. Then it still didn't work! Then he said the problem was the thermostat wire. He insisted on being paid even though the problem was not fixed. I paid for 2 hours labor and the unnecessarily replaced part.
The next day they sent two men . They determined that the issue was the thermostat wire. They relocated the thermostat near the air handler. In the middle of their work, it was discovered that they left the spool of wire by the trash can outside and it had been collected with the garbage! They hunted that down. Finally the work was completed. I paid again . This time for one hour labor and for the wire.
End of story, I paid for 3 hours of work for a one hour job. But that's a bargain since it was 3 men and 6 hours of time. Can you recall the 3 Stooges?

The Air-Ref tech Gonzalo exhibited a courteous and a professional attitude. He took his time and did a real thorough inspection of the AC unit inside and outside, and he performed the necessary tasks to keep the AC unit performing at its max.
