Sensible Heating and Cooling

My 20 year old Trane furnace decided to quit working a few weeks shy of not needing it for the rest of the spring. After reading reviews of Sensible Heating, I decided to give them a call. They were able to schedule me the same morning. The repair tech showed up exactly on time, and was courteous and knowledgeable. I had done my homework, and knew what the problem likely was. The tech confirmed it. It was refreshing to not be told that the furnace should be replaced, or be presented with a list of repairs beyond what was needed. The tech also pointed out some potential future (minor) issues that I will address soon.

Pricing was fair. As a DIY'er, I am always considering what I could do it for. Considering my time and materials against a knowledgeable tech inspecting the furnace for other issues as well, I feel I made the right decision.

My furnace is again working, and I am extremely satisfied with the service I received.

I had Dan install a geothermal heating cooling system in a 100 yr old house I've been rebuilding for over a year. I've worked with many contractors and Dan stands in a small group of men who I'd use again without getting another estimate. He listened to my ideas for the project, engineered a the new system, installed new ductwork, and completed every detail. He gave honest input on my idea and didn't try to steer me to an easier fix nor did he sell me a system that was too big for my property. He shows up when he says he will and he dealt with setbacks from his supplier without missing a beat.

Excellent service! Quick and efficient! Entire system checked! They found a small gas leak on the adjacent hot water tank and fixed that too! The two workmen were wonderful and a real treat to have them work on our system. We highly recommend Sensible Heating and Cooling!

We have called Sensible Heating & Cooling twice in the past year or so, and have been impressed with their professionalism and integrity. They take care of the problem at a reasonable price, and do not try to “up sell” you. As a single mom, whose furnace went out in the middle of nursing school finals and a few days before the coldest days of 2019, I can not find enough words to express my appreciation for the service I received. Stephen went above and beyond his professional duties to ensure I was a happy customer. Not only were they prompt and polite but they took the time to answer all my questions and explain all my options with no pressure. They made sure that everything could be completed before the temperatures got too low and as a result we have been warm and comfortable all winter.

Dan was able to fix an air conditioner that was 25 years old, when others just simply said, "replace it" Amazingly it is still working 3 seasons later. He fixed this air conditioner when it was over 100 degrees outside. He took the time when it would have been easier and probably more profitable to fix newer units. He also went to extra work to repair a new furnace motor that was under warranty. Just an honest company and Dan works to please, explain his intentions and charges a fair price.

Dan is amazing, he came over around 4 pm and it was like 110 and he was done by around 8 I'm amazed he finished replacing the outdoor unit by himself in such a hot weather and still put a smile on his face.

A/C wasn't working, so I started checking reviews on H&C companies. Sensible seemed to have favorable reviews and after having Dan out today, I understand why. Dan could have told me the Suction Cellunoid needed replacing and what would I know. I answered the door and he just, seemed honest. It took him about five minutes to figure out what was wrong (a burned wire in the outside unit) and was very clear regarding what it would take for him to fix it and how much it would cost, which seemed reasonable. He gave me a tutorial on filters and unit care, as well as an ideal thermostat setting to extend the life of our unit. I would highly recommend Sensible H&C to my friends. Hope this was helpful.
