Alaskan Air Conditioning and Heating were very professional and experienced in their skills. They installed a new Central AC and Heating Unit on our roof while taking down the old systems. They also installed new duct work and cleaned out and sealed the older remaining duct work. When everything was complete, they came back and did more work to satisfy our wants without any hesitation on their part. They went above and beyond the call of AC duty. They also made sure we got the best deal as far as financing went and offered us a great extended service plan that we can continue to build on if we want. I would definitely recommend them.

Jeremy was completely professional and very nice and on time. They got me in the same day. Turns out our AC was low on Freon and may have a small leak. I had him refill the Freon with added sealant. The charge was over $1100. I paid it because we needed the ac. After he left. The amount didn’t sit right with me. I called around and found out two other places would’ve charged us less than half. If you want to use these guys in an emergency and pay double go ahead. You’re better off going somewhere else.

Not only did he do an amazing job, but he also brought a smile to our faces when we learned that our unit is running flawlessly. Freddie's expertise and attention to detail were truly commendable. I don’t typically write reviews but I felt compelled to warn other consumers based on our poor experience with this company. Firstly, the tech came out for a $129 service call which was fine and appeared to go okay. Within two weeks, our thermostat downstairs completely shut off with no explanation. Concerned, we called Alaskan back out and we’re told the call would be of no charge due to their recent visit being less than 30 days ago.

The tech came, plugged in a new thermostat right in front of us (took a whole ten seconds) and it worked right away, so it was just a dead thermostat we had previously. He stated to “install” the thermostat would be $520.

Naturally, we felt it was extremely inflated pricing so we declined the install/device purchase. He then said it would be a charge of $129 for coming out. My husband said no, we were told it was free due to being recently here. He he insisted on charging and because we wanted him to leave our home, we paid to deal with it later.

We called the next day to explain the situation, and we’re told we’d get a refund. It was allegedly to be processed same day and back in our account in 7-10 days. 10 business days later we called because it was not yet received. That was yesterday. The gal on the phone said it took a week to “send the refund through” and it would be an additional 7-10 from that point.

Seriously?

1. Being charged without reason.
2. Holding onto our money for an extended period of time.
3. Being told it would be processed and it wasn’t until we called.

Unacceptable and unprofessional. Will be recommending to avoid this company.

I am writing this after 2 years of experience with the company after needing to replace my AC unit. It is honestly a mixed bag dealing with them but overall I gladly would never have to deal with them again. They were not my first choice for replacing my AC unit, but it was in the middle of a shortage of systems and they actually had available systems. The technician that initially came out when my system failed was excellent and we went through the options and he was very professional and while I did not have any real other options he did work me through that this was at least not a terrible option. After getting my initial payment however things were a mess, my install got scheduled, pulled in then pushed out and the installation techs only seemed to know about half their job and the original tech ended up having to come back out after they were "done" to resolve a few issues and get things running properly. When that was all completed things with the system have been great for the last couple years.

Part of the install was 2 years of their maintenance service every 6 months. While in general the techs were professional and did their job well there were a good many times the office staff messed up bookings, rescheduled and failed to do things like leave a message when they called from alternative numbers so it was not clear it was the company. Of course this is frustrating when you plan to be there only to discover nobody told you the plan changed. The techs and office people are also constantly pitching their other services (which include plumbing tune ups and many other things), I get you are a business but there is a level where it is too much. Most were good when they realized just do the basics so they "did their job" and knew they were not getting a sale, others pushed things like "the warranty will not be valid" for things completely unrelated to my AC unit and the last one was feeding things that I know are not correct because they are against the federal statutes regarding warranties. Some of this I accept because you are going to get it from everywhere but when it comes down to it; while they seem to have many very skilled techs out there I would not recommend them to others.

There is a premium with their company, one the quality of work seems to justify; but when I am engaging for a premium service I don't expect to have the unprofessional issues nor the fairly constant hard pitch. When I say hard pitch it was from the first return visit 6 months after install (where I had 3 move visits and a year and a half until my current service contract expired) and at that point they were pushing me to pre-pay to extend my service contract for another year so I could lock in the rates of that year. Fine if you want to basically offer and note this can be done, but I had to say no 2-3 times to that offer as why at that point did I need to extend my service contract?

Sorry to say I cannot muster giving them more stars, while I was happy with the general quality of the work I can honestly say that if I never have to deal with them again in my life I would be happier. I was constantly left with the impression that the customer service they have was clearly the best before they were paid, once they get the final payment for the install or contract then they have your money and while they do eventually deliver on what is committed to you it seems you slide into a lesser class of customer since you already have given them money.

I've used Alaskan for several years now and have always had a good experience with them. I purchased a service contract with them and pre-paid for two years. Unfortunately, I purchased a new unit from a different vendor due to the fact that it was about 20% cheaper due to a veteran's discount and I needed to save some money. This is my mistake.

When inevitably I started having issues, I called Alaskan to come take a look as my service contract was supposed to transfer. I spoke with the branch manager this morning who refused to take a look at my unit even though I was willing to pay for labor or charges.

While I understand their position, and agree that this is my problem to deal with and that I need to get it fixed with the other company, I was very disappointed by how this was handled. I've been a loyal customer for several years now and have referred friends and family to them. I've requested a pro-rated refund of my prepaid service contract, which hopefully comes through and won't be using them again.

We had our Air Conditioning and heating units replaced. The experience throughout was friendly and professional. From meeting with Samuel (originally organized to complete maintenance on our system), to discussing a new system with Earl, to discussing financing with William (who helped us work through some bumps in our financing), to installation (we had 6 installers here Dylan, Abe, Alex, plus 3 more) to our duct cleaning by (James and Fernando), the experience was friendly and professional. Everyone made sure all our questions were answered and our concerns were addressed. The installers and duct cleaners worked very hard to get our job done in a timely and professional manner. I really appreciated the email and text confirmations of our appointments, and the calls and emails (with photos and information about the person doing the work) when the technicians were coming.

He was great. On time at 12pm my slot was 12om-3pm. He did a though inspection and presented the issue clear and concise. Lucky I found my ac warranty saved me money. I signed up for a 2 year maintenance contract.

The company was very helpful and accommodating. Came right out for an appointment . Did not cancel like other companies. Gave me a window when the tech would arrive. When I got a phone call the tech was on the way , provided a tracker to show where is and what time would arrive, nice feature.
Freddy arrived , very nice and helpful.
Went over the report and showed me photos and explained things.

Would use again .

The service tech James was awesome! He was very knowledgeable, honest, professional and provided above and beyond customer service. He knew right away what was needed for repair, as well as performed maintenance services. He did a great job and I would highly recommend him and Alaskan A/C & Plumbing to anyone.
