I was sceptical at first. I read all the negative reviews first to see what others have had problems with. I decided that there was a lot more positive reviews then negative. The negative reviews seem like special cases and personal mistakes made at the ordering phase.(like ordering at smaller unit then you already have or ordering a wrong size unit). I do want to clear up 1 issue that everyone seems to be worried about. When you order your unit at newacunit they give you a certified AC installer to do the work. And they tell you exactly what you have to pay to the to get the installation completed. The contractor will come to your house and give you suggestions for upgrades. You don't have to take any of these upgrades if you don't want. In my case I had a 22 year old system, I chose to take $800 in upgrades. The contractor didn't force me or tell me I had to get these upgrades he was willing to do the work as is. So for the people that are worried about having to pay extra to the contractor. This is an option, it's your choice to upgrade or update your system or not. I personally had 3 other companies come and give me bids. All at $10,000-$12,000. I saved over $4000 getting my AC from newacunit and that is after the upgrades. I would recommend this company to anyone that wants a new AC.

Experience went very smooth. I was leery at first, having never bought an AC unit online, but I ended up being matched with a 5-star local AC installer. The cost came in as expected (no hidden fees, etc...) and $700 cheaper than the next lowest quote I got.

After being told that my one week old compressor needed to be replaced again, I decided to get a whole new unit. I'd heard of New AC unit on the radio, so I checked out their website. After chatting and getting a few questions answered, I ordered my unit. Within a couple of hours, Gary from Clear Air, did an inspection of my house, and 24 hours later, I had cold air blowing again! I saved thousands of dollars over other quotes. I would, and will, recommend New AC unit to anyone who needs to replace theirs.

Great way to leverage the Internet to circumnavigate HVAC price gouging. 4-Ton, 18SEER, 2-Stage Split unit w/Air Handler ALL in $7,200.00. This include the $900.00 in extras that the installer tacked on such as 1) Disconnect upgrade to fused disconnect. Thermostat wiring replacement from 5-wire to 7-wire in support 2-Stage operation and variable speed blower, emergency shut off trigger if the condensation pan develops a water level due to condensation pipe drain plugging up, raised platform to accomadate larger filter for more efficient flow and better pitch for condensation piping, replacement vent cover for where the old filter register used to be. Submitted paperwork Thursday night, they ordered the unit Friday and it was installed on Monday. I was in a bad way and STILL it was 30-40% less expensive than estimates I had received earlier in the year from Home Depot and Costco vendors.

The whole experience is 'as advertised'. It was simple, well coordinated with the installer and well executed. I spoke to Ed on a Friday, had an inspector at my house within 3 hours and a new system completely installed 3 business days later. Highly recommend this to anyone that wants to save half the price of the competition without sacrificing anything.

Top notch service at a great price! Spoke with Ed Cypress a couple of times before placing the order. He answered all my questions and was very professional. Placed the order online. Received a call within an hour from the installer which happened to be precision air (same company whom I believe owns the website). Spoke with Pamela who arranged for the installation the folllwing morning. Don the field supervisor did the inspection and was very professional. The following day the unit was installed by Guy and Francisco who worked tirelessly from about 9:30 AM to 5 PM to get thto job done. From purchase to competed installation took about 54 hours. Installers were very professional as well. Perfect solution for landlords on a budget. I own several properties (total of 7 AC units) and I will be a repeat customer.

It's been four months since I've purchased my ac unit from this company, they were supposed to furnish a communicating thermostat with this unit, as a package.
I have not received it, when the unit was installed, and when contacted, they said they will get back to me, it didn't happen. They since changed their ad where thermostat was offered, but I still have the printed original ad, showing the thermostat included. To top it all, the method of buying the unit on line, and using the recommended contractor does not save you money on the long run, and now you got two bad companies to deal with. My choice was Green ID, and they are the worst!
Picked them because I heard the review on the radio show, what a mistake !!
Stay away from those 2 companies!

Update: I changed my review from 4 starts to 5 stars. The General Manager from the install company, US Air Home Energy (Formerly Infinity Air), read that I had some minor issues with the install (The issues weren't anything major, which is why I still gave a 4 star review originally). He asked if he could send out one of his top Technicians to check on my install and address my issues. When they came out, they checked on everything done by the original installer and replaced some of the old wiring that the original installer had reused. In addition, because of our issues they also upgraded an additional thermostat in our home at no cost to us on a second AC unit that was old but still working. The new thermostats are nice because you can control them remotely from your phone. The company did their best to ensure I got everything agreed upon and that the job was done properly. I would definitely use newACunit again when it is time to replace my second unit. In the end, I am very satisfied with my experience buying from newACunit.

Original Review: I saved thousands of dollars by purchasing a unit from newACunit. I would have given the process four stars, but I did not feel I got everything agreed upon because of a couple minor things. Here is the process, after you purchase a unit an Install Company will come to your home and make sure you selected the right unit and will determine if you need any upgrades. I knew I would need a new thermostat because I purchased a two stage unit and my old one was single stage. That said I did purchase more upgrades to the existing equipment such as a new disconnect, thermostat, larger plenum, new drain pan to replace the rusted one, and some additional things. I figured if I was spending the money to replace the unit, I should spend a little more for upgrades. The Salesman offered to sale some other things like Aeroseal for the ducts, but I passed. Here is where I had an issue, the Salesman from US Air Home Energy, formally Infinity Air, advised me that I needed additional thermostat wires for the new Nest thermostat to work optimally. He also sold me a new Whip and Disconnect. After totaling everything up, he offered to cover the costs of most the upgrades if I elected to purchase a seven year maintenance agreement for a little more money. I elected to purchase the maintenance agreement. In the end, I added almost $1800to the $1250 install fee (I could have passed on about a $1000 of this extra expense, but I would have left old things to be attached to my new unit and it may not have run as optimal as it could). The installers did a great job. Here is where I had the issue, when the installers were working on putting in the thermostat I asked about running the additional wire. They said I had enough wires already for the Nest and did not need another wire run. (Update: The Nest can run on 5 wires, but the salesman sold me on getting a new six wire line for the Nest to work best, they did add the 6 wire line when I raised the issue and they came back). The second issue I had, the installers did not put a new Whip on the new Disconnect box because they needed an eight foot whip and only brought a six foot whip. They reused the old wire. Not the end of the world because the costs of those items were not very much and they still worked. It's the principal of the fact that I now believe I paid for items I did not need or get. In the end, I am happy because I know I saved thousands from other companies by using newAcunit. These minor issues cost this company a five star rating and a chance to have a very satisfied customer instead of just satisfied customer. I will say, because of the savings, if I need another new unit I will probably use this company again.
