I needed a new ac fast and this was a new option I found on the web and am very pleased. They came quick and worked all day in the heat. Very nice guys and I got a better system than other contractors were offering. I saved about 1,800 overall.
New update: Its a little bit of a story, but when I first purchased my unit, i bought a 3.5 ton based on sq.footage on the website. When the installer came for the inspection he asked why I chose 3.5 ton, seeing that I had a 4 ton already installed. I told him why and he recommended staying with a 4 ton. I asked him if he could get me the cost difference for a 4 ton and was told he would get ahold of Newacunit and have them call me or call me himself to get me a price. Well neither of those ever happened, so i just assumed install was proceeding as planned. Morning of the install, they show up and go over things with my Wife. She sees the 4 ton unit and points out we ordered a 3.5 ton. Installer responds with "Well this is what they gave me." She reiterates that we did not pay for a 4 ton, he responds with "well this is what they gave me, so if they wanna pay me later to uninstall this one and reinstall a different one then they can." Fast forward to 3 weeks later. Newacunit is now calling and hassling my wife for more money for having a bigger unit installed. If I had the mans name I would post it. He even admitted that the installer made it sound like we approved it, which is obviously not the case, but somehow instead of holding their shady installer responsible, its now my fault. It has been nothing but hidden costs and B.S. since starting this process. I was willing to give Newacunit the benefit of the doubt at first but they have now shown how they operate. Would give 0 STARS if I could. Do your research . My 4200 dollar purchase price has ended up costing me over 5200 and counting.Update-Have received response and newACunit is working to fix my contractor issue. Contractors broke a large portion of my ceiling and won't do anything about it. Have emailed and tried chat support with newacunit and have received no response.
Stay clear of this place. You will get tricked into thinking it's a good deal until you get hit with a surprise 'installation' fee on top of the 'flat rate fee' you already paid. If you argue with them they will say tough luck, no refunds.
Response to owners response:
Your comments don’t even make sense. Has anyone else noticed that the owner always seems to say the bad reviews are the fault of the customer and the positive reviews sound fake.
All I will say is do your homework people. Once you buy the unit its yours!!! You get what you pay for. I don't see TRANE, LENNOX or CARRIER here, why?? Say no more!! Through experience I advise call a reputable AC company and get face to face advice! Also if you read the other reviews they complain about pricing and contractors that install it. Hidden costs people. I would rather know upfront before I purchase. Try getting the same contractor out when you need service for the unit, again good luck with that!!
This is by far the best deal. Newacunit treated me so awesome. Answered all my questions and even called me to check on making sure my contractor Just Chill'n Heat and Air contacted me. I can not say enough about the fair prices and the amazing customer service. Thank you so much.
My contractor Just Chill'n Heat and Air were amazing. The gentleman came out for inspection was super nice and very quick and the three gentlemen who showed up today were so nice and so professional. They worked as quick as they could and done a beautiful job. Cleaned up nicely and did an amazing job. Very friendly and had the best attitude even working in this awful heat.
Thank you so very much. Will definitely be recommending this service to everyone I know.
Ed from ac units was very helpful with the purchase and did not try to sell us a unit we did not need. The installers[Airite] was on time and finished in 6 hours. Walked us through the whole install and testing. We are very happy with the whole process. Told are friends and neighbours
Fantastic is all I can say. Calling and talking to the rep was such a relief. He had so much knowledge and helped me decide without trying to up sell me on the right solution . He always answered my many calls in for answers. The contractors who installed the unit were A+ as well. They all went above and beyond. My only concern has nothing to do with the company or contractor. I will recommend this way to purchase an ac system to my friends for sure. Thank you.
Great new online ac purchase service and install very simple quick and saved me Thousands ... NO joke this is not a scam Real deal ...this is the new way to purchase and save Thanks Again for the great service and savings ...
Unfortunately, I have had an extremely poor experience with NewACUnit. There is a fatal flaw in their process that my affect everyone considering a purchase. Here is my story: Based on their site I chose a 3 ton unit for my modest 1400 sq ft home - I even took the extra step of calling newACUnit since my current house has a 5 ton unit of which I knew was well over sized. After the phone call proceeded with purchase of 3 ton unit with newACUnit's recommendation. From here NewACUnit sends out a contractor to do inspection. During inspection the contractor they provided indicated the unit would be undersized and that at least a 3.5 ton unit should be installed. Seems inconsequential, but since I want a higher rating (16 SEER & up) the difference in price is substantial. Since the pricing on a 16 seer unit is no longer to my satisfaction and the terms have changed substantially I no longer wanted to continue with purchase.
Here are the the main issues I see:
1. NewACUnit charges your card BEFORE they send a contractor to inspect. Waiting on that charge until contractors confirmation only seems to make the most sense.
2. *Any* organization would allow for refunds if the terms drastically change like in my situation. Unsure why the delay with this, but I would assume that NewACUnit would not expect you to buy a completely different unit than what was agreed upon simply because the contractor is requiring it. Could you imagine if organizations were allowed to change terms after payment was made? I'm sure they realize with a purchase this large and the potential for thousand(s) of dollars difference based on SEER and tonnage there should be something in place that protects the customer. From my point of view the terms have clearly changed and I believe this should have a quick resolution. If they are unwilling to protect the customer then this is not a business that should be trusted.
3. After calling new NewACUnit phone number they promised me a refund over the phone and promised a call/email next day. Today is February 11th and that contact was made December 18th, 2017. There was no refund at this point or even contact made. There is no excuse for this in my opinion.
Why force someone to do business with you that no longer wants to? This is a very unfortunate situation that is yet to have resolution. The overall idea of NewACUnit seems good, but this situation has left me with a very bad opinion of this highly rated organization.
Excited about NACU disrupting this space! There should be more verbiage on the web site about the increased likely-hood of there being additional costs above the quoted install. Especially when homeowners are UPgrading their older systems. My upgrade from a one-stage to two-stage unit resulted in surcharges for wiring runs and air-handler size upgrades. After these, all the other 'recommendations' could start sounding like nickel & dime tactics (luckily, my contractor seemed empathetic to this). In the end, I was happy with the amount of money I saved, and the overall service the contractor provided, but wanted to make this service better for the next person by making the upgrading issue known since most customers will most likely be looking to upgrade when replacing a unit. Sometimes the simple act of setting expectations correctly goes a long way in that respect.
