Mike and team were amazing during our furnace installation. They are genuinely interested in putting the right equipment in your home to make it comfortable year round. Their installation work was completed quickly and to perfection. Would recommend Shackelford to anyone and will be hiring them again to replace our air conditioner.

Our furnace started randomly leaking so I made a quick call to Shackelford since we have used them in the past. Holly was great and quickly got me on their schedule. John the service tech was right on time and I appreciated his thoughtfulness related to COVID precautions (mask, entered directly through our basement stairs vs. going through our house, kept 6 ft apart, etc). He was polite, efficient, informative and straight to the point. I will continue to use Shackelford for all of our HVAC needs and I highly recommend them.

Only conducted a walkthrough with Mike, the owner, so far - but the process for scheduling was smooth and I'd be happy to work with Shackleford if it ends up making sense. I do appreciate that they will let you sub out certain aspects yourself or complete to their spec to save some money.

Mostly though, just a breath of fresh air to work with a genuinely nice person who cares about the customer and the environment and understands the entire carbon cycle. That was a surprising breath of fresh air. The housing and home renovation market is so insane right now that these folks can wag you around if they want to and I've seen my share of it during the simple prospect of getting new HVAC.

I will update this review if work actually proceeds, but felt it was important to call out the great service! Oh yeah - and 5 stars for not trying to itemize $275 for a new condensate pump (eyeroll).

Our AC went out during an intense heat wave. All of the Madison area heating and cooling companies that I called were booked out for 2 to 5 days. A friend recommended that I call Shackelford. The friendly woman on the phone saw that they had a service technician in the area and she told me he would be at our house as soon as possible. John showed up at my door within 30 minutes of calling. He analyzed and fixed our problem quickly and went out of his way to clean out our unit. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Very pleased with my results from Shackelford Heating & Cooling. From Mike (owner) who came out and evaluated our situation and then recommended the 'correctly sized' furnace based on our ductwork, and didn't try to sell me an upgrade, to the guys who came to remove the old and install a new Carrier. Very impressed with the whole team. Professional, honest, and quality workmanship. Well done!

The furnace unexpectedly stopped working last week in the evening. I called after-hours and promptly received a return call. A tech showed up at my door the following morning at the scheduled time. After reviewing the error codes, the tech quoted me the cost of the replacement parts (very expensive non-Carrier part on a 14 year old furnace). The tech and I then conferred regarding the costs and benefits of repairing the existing unit or replacing it. We discussed the various furnace options. Within a couple hours, the installation team was at the house. They had drop cloths running to the basement. They went to work on the installation, upgrading the gas valve, associated wiring, and sheet metal, and elevating the furnace off the floor. They reused the existing air cleaner and humidifier, moving the humidifier to a better location, and upgraded the thermostat. The installers did a thorough job cleaning up. They showed me the features of the new furnace and how to maintain the humidifier and air cleaner.

I called Shackelford because I had great service from them years ago when I installed an A/C unit at another house. They didn't disappoint me then and they rose to the occasion this time around. I wasn't in a position to shop around, but based on my past experience and discussion with others, the price was fair, and most importantly, the furnace works like a charm.

So, you're reading this review to decide on an HVAC company. Look no further, Shackleford takes care of their customers. I was extremely happy with the quality of the installation of our new (retrofitted) AC and, beyond that, the quality of the customer service. Jim and his team were professional, clean, and friendly. They took the extra time to walk through the inner workings of the unit as well as provide a quick tutorial on programming the new thermostat. They earned a customer for any future needs that arise!

Woke up on a Saturday and my furnace was out. I knew the part that I needed to fix it but all the dealers in town were closed over the weekend. Figured I’d give it a shot and fill out the online form for Shackelford. They called my very shortly after, let me know they had the part in that I needed and let me come pick it up so that I wouldn’t have to go the weekend without heat in the winter. I’ll 1,000% be coming back to this business whenever I need a furnace or a/c replacement in the future!

We had our older Carrier furnace and air conditioner replaced by Shackelford about a month ago. Very competitive pricing, replacement was done efficiently in about 1/2 day, and the units have been working great! I would highly recommend Mike and his team.

I used Mike and Jon to service to my a/c and furnace @ my rental house and my home for a couple of years and was very satisfied. I recently had them install a new a/c and furnace at my rental. The installers were great. They were there early and finished very promptly by mid afternoon. They were personable and I couldn't have been happier.
