My experience with A-1 American was an A+ one. This was not my first life experience with a stopped drain. I plunged, snaked, disassembled the pipes and snaked again, then went and bought a longer snake with no luck. Then I remembered the old proverb “The first thing you should do if you find yourself in a hole, is Stop Digging! So I surrendered and called A-1.

When I called it was early Friday evening, to my surprise the call was taken directly by the plumber on the service truck who clearly explained the business rules. I found out later, they were just finishing up one job and were in a location to make mine the next stop before their next. I appreciated their flexibility to make service call decisions in the field. When they arrived John and Larry introduced themselves, we agreed on the task order and they went right to work. There is nothing like having the right tools and operators in place.

My previous efforts, and continued efforts would have been no match and my Friday-Saturday- would have been shot. It took a little over an hour to complete the work and the time from the first call to completion was about two hours. John and Larry also provided a personable touch and discussed preventive measures to the task at hand as well as recommendations on another project I had on the radar. Even my Yellow Lab bonded with John and Larry on the visit. Upon completion the guys cleaned up the area and all was good. I actually had a weekend to enjoy!

David came by and found the leak under the bathroom sink. He explained what he needed to do to fix it. He was very professional and thorough. He took the time to explain things to me and answered the questions that I had. He cleaned up after himself. I hope you know what a great plumber you have representing your company. He is 1st class and I will not hesitate to call your company for any other plumbing or other needs.

We are extremely pleased with A-1 American's service for our recent plumbing repairs. John called ahead and arrived at the house within the stated time frame given to us when we called for service. He was very polite and explained in detail what repairs needed to be done based on our concerns. The repairs were fixed quickly! John even took the time to educate us on questions we had regarding plumbing maintenance and other related issues. A very positive experience for us,and we would not hesitate to recommend this company (and John) for to our friends and families!

Jeremy was amazing! He was super helpful, knowledgeable and honest. He explained everything clearly and was very professional. Even though our ground was not easy and there were lots of roots in the way he got the job done and did a fantastic clean up after as well! John S. was friendly, professional and efficient on 18 OCT 2022 when he located and repaired a supply pipe leak above my Kitchen ceiling. As promised, he called ahead prior to arrival at the appointed time.

He willingly explained what he was doing and kept the mess to an absolute minimum.

I am willing to utilize his services again. He is top notch.

A-1 American provided excellent and quick service. They came out to service and repair my heating system and furnace. I had no heat for a week. My heat was just not working. The tech told me I have an Apollo system that uses my water heater to heat my furnace. They fixed it same day on a weekend. Fast, friendly, and courteous, I highly recommend their service. I would recommend them to anyone for heating, cooling, and plumbing.

My husband and I were very pleased with Ron Bernard's and Tom's professionalism, courtesy and promptness in completing an excellent job in replacing valves for our hot water heater and washer. We received a phone call thirty minutes before their arrival as promised to us when making the appointment. They even cleaned my laundry room of all debris before leaving including wiping off the washer and dryer! We would highly recommend these two gentlemen to anyone in need of plumbing repairs!!

It's a sincere pleasure to provide this review of A-1 American (and especially their technician, Jake B.) who went well above and beyond in solving our HVAC problem--on the hottest day of the year no less. Suffice it to say that there's a reason I'm a returning customer. This company is exceptional in their courtesy, thoroughness, competence and customer care. They provide great value and I highly recommend them.

They came out to my house because my upstairs tub faucet and sink faucet were both dripping. The tech called to say he was running late which was nice. When he got there he took a look at both and gave me an estimate of $773. He explained that I was getting the regular price because I was a first time customer. This just floored me. I have a regular plumber but he was on another job so he couldn't do it. I told him just to fix the tub so it was still like $598. All he did was replace a little piece...not almost six hundred dollars worth. It only took like 10 minutes. I did later call my plumber to fix the sink and I told him. He couldn't believe it. He only charged me $75 to fix the sink and he said he would have fixed both for $125. I feel so used. I guess its live and learn. I will never use them again and have also alerted friends and family to this.

My mother called for emergency HVAC services.They told her someone could arrive the next day, but could not give her an arrival window. After 1pm on the day of service she called A1 to get an update on the technician's arrival. That representative said she couldn't tell her anything because the technicians were not in the office. I guess they don't have phones or some system of relaying their status to one another.??? After some prodding, Customer Service looked at their roster to see if the service call was on that days list and told my mother there were three jobs ahead of her .They said she didn't have wait at home because they would call when he was on the way After thinking it over my mother called back to see if the technician could really get to her that day since he had so many jobs ahead of hers.This customer service rep told my mother that they have been 2-3 days behind PRIOR to my mother contacting them
and there was no guarantee she would even be helped the following day as they only have 3 technicians. She also said my mother's name was not on today's list for any of the technicians - she was on a standby list. When my mother contacted A1 American they offered her next day service knowing they are several days delayed all along. When questioned, All the lady would say is that she wouldn't have handled my mother's calls the way her co-workers had and she could help her call around for service from another company. They had also offered my mother a returning customer discount which they denied because they could not find that she had been a customer before.
Due to copd my mother is having trouble breathing in this heat. They are putting her at risk with their tactics. She is now faced with finding another provider and paying extra for after hours service or weekend service . She had also asked them to look at a small plumbing repair at the same time and she will now be required to pay two separate service calls unless she can find another company that offers both HVAC and plumbing services.
This an unacceptable way to handle your business and customers. It would have been better if you had been honest the first or second time she called you so she could have found someone to help her quickly. It took three calls for the real story to be given. Every other company contacted knew their availability at the initial call. She hired A1 American because you said you could offer next day service. We would not known what was going on if she hadn't called back a third time and pressed for a better answer. She would have been waiting for days because your customer service was not truthful. I would give negative stars if I could.
