My heat had stopped working due to a full drain pan of water. Corey came in just a few hours (this was a weekend), and was able to diagnose the issue to a disconnected condensation drain pipe. I’m so glad for his quick troubleshooting, clear explanation, and quick repair. He didn’t play any games; it’s nice to have companies you can trust. Highly recommend!

The technicians were timely and professional. While on the yearly maintenance check, they noticed a small issue that was unnoticed by us. They repaired/replaced the item in question quickly. I would highly recommend James River HVAC.

James our plumbing technician came out at 1am to fix a severe main drain line caused by roots growing into the line, he was awesome and I would love you to give him a raise! My A/C wasn’t working. The scheduling lady prioritized my service call. The tech arrived promptly, was extremely professional, serviced my HVAC system & advised me on the efficiency of my system. Ask for Carlson!

I called-in a service request to James River Air and the tech/repair person, Ryan, contacted me soon afterwards letting me know he was on his way to my home.
Upon arriving, Ryan immediately began his diagnostic approach to discover all problems and solutions to repair my HVAC, which is comprised of Central Air and a Gas Furnace. Ryan definitely represented Richmond’s James River Air in a highly professional manner. I observed Ryan working at the furnace location in my attic and outdoors at the A/C unit. His methods, techniques and mechanical abilities were showcased during the entire service call. Ryan performed everything necessary including the replacement/installation of HVAC parts to ensure my systems would operate as expected. Even the fan on the outside unit and blower inside sound better while running.
By comparison, I have had “house calls” made by other “technicians” from other companies who spent more time on their cell phone seeking information they were unfamiliar with, or actually taking breaks just sitting idle in their truck. In contrast, it was very refreshing to observe a task oriented knowledgeable person with true work ethic get the job done right.

Today was my second experience with James River. The first was for plumbing repair and today was HVAC repair. I am very impressed with the professionalism of the Technicians. I am most impressed by their keeping me informed of the process and findings during the service procedures and advising me of aging equipment expectations. Finally I have found a service company that I am comfortable with.

Mr. Brooks, the technician, was top notch and went out of his way to make sure I understood the situation and that both systems were taken care of. He was personable, polite and knowledgeable.

Used them to install a new heat pump. This install team was very professional. They worked quickly and were very mindful during the installation to not make a mess in the house moving equipment in and out of the house. Would recommend them to friends and family looking to get their HAVC system serviced or installed.

James River put in a new HVAC system and thermostat for us in Fall 2020 and just came and did free preventative maintenance for the second time (once in Fall 2021 and this most recent service last week). The system works beautifully and is easy to operate. The office staff is efficient and provides excellent customer service. The technicians are polite, respectful, professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend James River.
