I am extremely pleased with the service provided by the technician Andrew. He was very thorough and provided detailed information on each step of his review. While performing his analysis he was able to validate the changes recommended by showing me the data to support it. I’ve never had someone provide such an in-depth review of a product and service that made me feel confident in continuing the service and signed the contract with no hesitation. The staff is very professional and polite and quick to respond to any concerns. I would definitely recommend them to family members and friends.

I hired a plumber and an electrician. The plumber was great at plumbing, but not good at writing a quote that included my job description. That set off red flags, but in the end, due to the man himself, the job was done perfectly. There were some scheduling issues, but surprisingly, they honored the original appointment without complaint. The electrician was experienced in general home wiring, but lacked knowledge of Ethernet and Fios networks. Some of the physical details were initially a little sloppy, but he cleaned up the wall plate nicely. That problem was probably a poor choice of components. There was a problem bringing my equipment back online afterwards - something I had never seen before. Initial messages regarding the problem went unanswered, until, perhaps coincidentally, I suggested stopping my credit card payment. Then I got a reply from the office promising a technician sometime that day. The guy showed up before I expected him, and solved the problem quickly, at no additional charge. Value wise, I felt the prices were roughly 50 to 100% higher than an independent might have charged. I paid the higher price for the James River name and the technical expertise that implies. In almost every instance where I would have expected trouble from an independent, James River took the high road, and performed well. Overall, I give them a B+ or 4.5 rating.

They installed two units several years ago and have maintained them since. One of the units had some issues recently with cooling. We called and your team was professional and timely. The technicians called and were great at keeping us informed with the progress. They were on time and maintained the budget that was given to us. We have been extremely satisfied with all the work and especially the communication. Thanks!You guys are always great!!

Thought I had a major problem, only to find out a stick had stopped the compressor fan. The JR folks got me in and serviced quickly although their schedule was already full. Our technician is so friendly and professional, and definitely knows his stuff. He's been here numerous times doing our regular maintenance. Love the quality they bring to the job.

After becoming frustrated with our current plumbing company we decided to get a second opinion about our system. Mike Jones came and checked everything out, explained the problem and gave us the best solution to move forward. He was professional, respectful, knowledgeable and very experienced—a true asset for the company. Our problem was resolved in 2 days—which was refreshing since we had waited 5 mos for a part that never materialized from the other company. JR’s price was 15% less and we signed a service contract on the spot. We are pleased with the work and feel confident we will have a great working relationship for many years to come.

Very professional and efficient. Was the first A/C maintenance company that had actually looked at the unit inside of my condo, instead of only looking at the roof top unit. Was very thorough on ensuring his diagnosis was accurate. Was the first technician to explain to me exactly what was going on with it and be able to help me with getting my home in a safe temperature for me and my pets. Mike was just awesome!

Outright theives. Only called them because they were the original installer of the unit - was told there was a 170$ dispatch fee. Not unusual, some contractors have a charge that is waived if you accept their quote and it was an emergency situation. Though 170 is crazy high. I was told I'd hear back about when they could come in the next 24 to 48 hours. Instead, I got a call out of nowhere saying they were at my house. I was at work. Given no warning, I had to leave work and rush to the house or else they were going to leave. The tech cycled power to the unit and it fixed the problem. I had also cycled power to the unit before I called them but it didn't turn on when I did. In total the tech was there for less than 15 minutes and did the exact same troubleshooting I had done. Once we agreed the problem was fixed, he gave me a bill for 283$. 170$ for dispatch plus 113$ for diagnostics. I was not told ahead of time about the additional diagnostics fee. The dispatch fee was not waived. 283$ just to flip a switch. Complete bull*** no transparency on price, hidden fees. Terrible communication. Never call these people.

I had James River install a complete HVAC system in my second story that I had recently finished. The job was completed quickly and correctly, and was very affordable compared to others I was quoted from.
I just recently switched over to their maintenance plan for my first story unit and that too was well worth the money.
This company does a fantastic job.

Great group of guys!! They did a wonderful job installing our hvac on the first and third floor. They were very professional and down to earth when engaging in conversations. I highly recommend this company!!
