I have had a couple of issues with a new unit that was installed by Rocky Top and quiet frankly I would’ve never recommended them to anyone if it wouldn’t have been for Spencer! He just answered an issue quickly that a couple of other service techs have been here to look at and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. He’ll be running the business in no time at all and should be!
In December of 2020 I contacted RockyTop Air for service at a condo for heating being out. They came out and replaced a thermostat and said this would fix the issue I was having. Soon after this the heat still would not work properly and had them come back out to diagnose what the problem may be and was told it was a bad defrost board that keeps tripping the unit and making it cut off. So I ask them to come out before Christmas so my over night tenants can go without having to deal with cold temperatures for the evening. I was denied and was told a time and day that was far in access to when the tenants checked in, so that would not work. They did tell me a part number and a fix to get the unit back up and running so all I had to do was get a technician to replace the defrost board and I’d be set to go. $580 dollars later I had the defrost board replaced and ready to to go and that wasn’t the problem. I had a neutral party come check out the unit and they informed me that the only reason the unit keeps tripping is because the thermostat is faulty. (This was replaced by RockyTop air all along) Current contractor replaced thermostat and now all is fine. The problem is that Rocky Top didn’t take ownership of a problem that they came up with and made a customer spend almost $800 more to fix something that was as simple as a thermostat. Don’t trust them to know what they are doing, they will guess at your expense and refuse to pay any difference expenses when the problem started with them. Do Not Use This Company!
Rocky Top Air has done a great job of installing, maintaining and repair of my heating & air equipment. They always respond promptly to calls for service, provide friendly, professional technicians and are always willing to answer questions I have about things I need to do to operate my equipment efficiently and reliably. I recommend Rocky Top Air to anybody!
I had my heating and cooling system installed by Rocky Top and continue to receive their service plan. Their service technicians are prompt, polite, and very knowledgeable. They make sure my system is running efficiently and they make suggestions on how to adjust my usage to save money. I'm very pleased with their work.

Thanks to Chris, Gerald and office staff for working with us in such a quick and professional manner on our water leak. Got up early to go to work heater had quit working. Called answering service said office was closed but would have on duty maintenance person contact me. He was very courteous and repaired the loose wire. Would recommend company to friends.
We recently had some work done by Rocky Top. There was some initial miscommunication/misunderstanding, but the service manager Chris Graham was exceedingly helpful and courteous, and we got everything straightened out. It was very clear from that interaction that customer satisfaction REALLY is their top priority - not just a sales pitch. We will be long-time customers.
I have used Rocky Top for NUMEROUS plumbing repairs, namely old leaky copper pipe repairs on our 40 year old house (repaired w/pex). They always get out here quickly to solve the problem. Jim our repair man is courteous and reliable. I wouldn't call anyone else.
I called for a quote on 3 different AC units. They sent 2 sales people and a technician. They never mentioned a service fee for the technician. Now they are threatening to send my account to collections. Had the fee been mentioned, I would have told them not to come out. I feel cheated. They refuse to work with me, so I want everyone to know how they treat people. My advice is never ask them for a quote.
