Rocky Top Air has provided services for three major home projects. I am extremely pleased with their service and professionalism. They arrive when scheduled and take care of all of our air-conditioning, heating, and plumbing maintenance.
I have been a customer or Rocky Top Air for 3 years and have been very satisfied with the company. From their office personnel to the technician that have visited my home. Very prompt and knowledgeable.
Our A/C system went on the fritz. No matter how long the unit ran, it could not bring the temperature down to the level we had set. Days were very hot, and nights were steamy. Unfortunately, my wife and I had covid so the company could not come for repairs as quickly as they wanted. Once we were out of quarantine, a visit was scheduled, and the technician showed up right on time. He listened! I told him that I had been a troubleman for a power company. Though I didn't know much about A/C work, I did know what the problem might be. We had experienced a similar problem with another company, so I thought he might want to start addressing that issue. Instead of ignoring my suggestion, he made it the first thing he looked at. And wouldn't you know it, that was the issue. He addressed it. He fixed it. The unit runs great; days are comfortable; and nights are restful. We are extremely glad to have a year-round contract with Rocky Top Air.
They were scheduled for Mon morning to disconnect faucets before new countertop and new faucets installed. they texted me to let me know when they would arrive. did the disconnect. then scheduled the reconnect for new faucets afterwards and notified me before coming and did the reconnect. there was a leaking from new sink, but they came back quickly and fixed it.
In February I called Rocky Top Air, Inc. (which apparently operates under the name On Hour Heating and Air as well) and requested a visit and quote regarding upgrading/updating the three water heaters in my home. When I called, I explained that a TVA energy audit inspector had identified my old electric water heaters as good candidates for upgrades that would decrease my utility bills. I explained that I wanted someone knowledgeable on water heaters to look at the configuration of my house and give me a recommendation and pricing for installation of new water heaters. At the scheduled appointment, I took off work and met with the two employees from Rocky Top Air that arrived at my home. I took them to the crawl space to show them the two ‘short’ water heaters there and also inside the home where there is a third water heater in a small closet. Unfortunately, most of my questions were met with phrases like: “I’m not too familiar with that”, “I don’t know the answer”, “I will have to check with ‘so-and-so’ and find out about that”, and “I would need to look into that and get back to you”. They were able to provide some information that was useful: the heat-pump systems are noisy, so putting one next to or under a bedroom would be a bad idea, that both gas and heat-pump systems would require running condensation lines out of the house, electric tankless is not recommended (though there was not a clear explanation on why), and a tankless gas water heater will require replumbing with larger ID pipes than what I have now. After they left, I assumed they would send a quote in the next few days, along with a follow-up call to provide answers to some of the questions I had asked. But I never heard from them or anyone from the company since and it’s been over six weeks now. I suppose the company must be over-run with jobs and so losing one like mine is of little consequence to them. But if that’s the case, why bother sending those guys out in the first place? Why have them bring me a ‘gift bag’ and Welcome letter from the company President and owner (Gerald Allison with his face on it) where he thanked me for choosing Rocky Top and offered cash earnings for making referrals and a $50 Rocky Top Gift card to use in the future? I really don’t get it. I sent a letter back, directly to Gerald Allison, and told my story about my experience with his company. He, nor anyone else with the company, ever responded.
What a huge waste of time. I obviously do not recommend this company to anyone.
I used Rocky Top for a new installation after my other unit from a competitor broke for the last time after only being 5yrs old , I am so glad I chose Rocky Top . I wish I would have used them from the beginning of my trouble . They have very reliable and knowledgeable installers , and I have had them out twice for scheduled maintenance, and could be happier , many thanks and anyone looking for a company that does what they say they will and in a timely and professional manor you owe it to yourself to use Rocky Top One Hour Air . Many many thanks .
Rocky Top Air is absolutely awesome. They installed two new systems in my home recently and were extremely professional, neat, and knowledgeable and did everything just as they had promised. They followed up on some items just like they said they would, and I felt like they were truly interested in getting my home to its optimum comfort level. I am definitely pleased with their work and would highly recommend them to any family members, friends, or anyone!
I had a preventative maintenance completed on my unit Feb 24,2022. The tech was on time ( actually early which I was pleased with). Seemed very knowledgeable and friendly and explained everything that he was doing and answered any questions that I had in an easy to understand manner. Would highly recommend Rocky Top Air.
Rocky Top Air came to my home and repaired my unit, got it running and actually made me feel like I was their top priority. They took the time to explain to me the process of the repair and offered other services that I needed. They also told me they now offer Plumbing services. They wore shoe covers and respected my home, was courteous and friendly. I have used other heating and cooling companies in the past, but I will now use Rocky Top Air for all my air needs. I highly recommend them to anyone if you are looking for professionals that care about you!
