Previously, I had had another company out to do air conditioner maintenance and reboot the system because the "high-pressure" code had trigged the system to shut off. At the time, I was happy with the company because the air started working again. However, within a week, the system shut-off again. So, this time I called Charleston Heating and Air because our neighbor uses them and recommended them.
Lucas came out. I have to say that he did an AMAZING job! He was extremely thorough, and he checked everything and stayed until he was able to diagnose the problem. In the end, it turns out the heat/air system is fairly old and has issues. He knew that I was on a budget, so he quoted me several options. He was very smart, and his customer service was outstanding. I would absolutely use Charleston Heating and Air again, and Lucas as my technician!
They installed my system new. I found some small issues with the initial installation that pointed to poor craftsmanship. Parts and trash left laying. Seals not put in place. By the second season the system lost nearly all the refrigerant. I had another company come out and found a pin hole in the evaporator coil and a sheet of paper covering a quarter of the coil. I asked for a quote over the phone and they said they would have to send a tech out to verify for an $89 service fee. They would not provide a potential cost over the phone. I suspect they will want hundreds of dollars to repair a problem with their installation. I have seen no indication this company has any integrity.
These guys are the best! First of all you are greeted with friendly, helpful, and responsive people on your first call. They come when they say they will. They are clean and respect your home. They are very thorough. And they communicate well about what they did and what they found. If your system needs something, they explain why and how much it will cost before you have to make a decision. And now they can provide service for our plumbing needs as well! I have used many firms through the years. These guys are the best.
My AC stopped cooling on Sunday before Labor Day. I was sure that it would be days before a technician would be available. I was pleasantly surprised by a call from James that day and his arrival on Labor Day! He was friendly, efficient, and had my unit up and running in a short time. I would highly recommend their services!
Charleston heating and air was able to get out to our house within 48 hours of a phone call. Michael was professional, courteous, and so nice. We are very pleased to be customers of theirs!

I immediately received both a text and email assuring me I was on the list, and encouraging me to go about my day, not wait around for them -- as they would work around me! I got a 2nd text updating me on expected times, then a phone call when the technician was an hour away. BONUS: they texted me a photo, name, and short bio on who was coming to my home. Our technician, Dustin, was professional, courteous, and quickly diagnosed and fixed our problem. We are SO thrilled with our experience with this fantastic company and have already recommended them to others.

Justin and Dustin were patient and took the time to discuss both of my HVAC systems with me, and were professional and efficient in repairing one of the systems. I’m one of those homeowners who like to listen, ask questions and learn, and they were helpful allowing me to do so.
I was able to get service the same day I called. Troy was prompt, professional & pleasant. He was able to diagnose & fix the problem w/in an hour and didn’t cost nearly as much as I’d feared. Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend.
