Beware of Haller’s flat fees. They combine diagnosis, labor and parts into unit prices, a practice which suppresses the ability to understand the fairness of the charges. We were told we needed two capacitors to repair a geothermal heat pump. The job was not priced as time and materials or as one price for the job, but in two separate unit prices. The quote contained a dispatch fee, $79 (no problem there), plus two unit prices, one “replace capacitor” at $426, and one “replace capacitor” at $278. We naively assumed this meant these were expensive parts. After a little online searching after the work was done, I found them to be worth maybe $20 each. They sit side by side in the front of the cabinet, and it takes minutes to do the actual replacement of the two of them. We recognize that there is a reasonable value of the technician’s time to troubleshoot and identify that the two capacitors were faulty, but knowing what we know now, this was easily covered within the unit price to replace just the first one. What did we get for the second $278 unit price? A $20 part and about 3 or 4 more minutes of time to put it in. Haller’s estimate claims to be “a good faith estimate of work to be performed.“ We disagree. I asked for an adjustment in the bill and got nothing but a series of interruptions while I tried to have a conversation. They offered a $50 coupon for a future service call. No thanks. We won’t be calling Haller again.

My central air that was 22 years old finally went. I called Haller on a Wednesday, Curtis was out on Thursday to give me a quote on a new system. He was punctual, professional, and informative. I received the completed detailed quote the same day and was able to get a full install the following Tuesday. The two men who did the install were fantastic. Quiet and cleaned up after themselves. Gave me a full educational tour of the new unit. New unit works wonderfully. Very pleased with the whole experience. Highly recommend.

First class service. Customer service on phone was very nice, they were able to be here next day to service AC unit (it was 95 deg!), service tech was knowledgeable, communicated the issue well. Follow up same day with replacement options and then installed it with in three days! Excellent communication and consideration of my house throughout.
