Sunset Heating & Cooling

Sunset Heating and Cooling has provided services to us for over 10 years. They have provided exceptional service on 4 residential properties.
1. Changed out an oil furnace for a gas furnace,
2. Replace a gas furnace,
3. Modified an existing central heating/cooling system to accommodate an independent living area using a mini spit system, and
4. Design and install a central heating and cooling system for a major remodel of an older baseboard heated 1000 sf house.

Steve was thorough at evaluating my job (re-routing furnace exhaust to side of house) and thinking through the details. They were also willing to get it permitted (surprising that so many didn't want to) and did so successfully.

Filipe and Julian were an efficient and effective team. They did the job as Steve had outlined for them.

A year ago we had our old heatpump replaced with a new one by Sunset. They had good prices and got it installed within a few days, persevering through some initial challenges to get it dialed-in and working great! Since then, we have continued going back to Sunset for several services (annual maintenance and cleaning, duct repair, thermostat replacement and furnace repair) because: 1) The people who answer the phone are quick and efficient with scheduling, 2) All the technicians have been knowledgeable, helpful, kind, and persistent in resolving any issues that arise, and 3) Their prices are straightforward. We're very grateful to all the folks at Sunset for helping us keep warm and stay cool in an old house with an aging HVAC system.

I love that Sunset keeps me on track with maintenance of my heating and cooling systems. Jake was especially helpful and efficient installing my new furnace and thermostat today. Austin was also very professional, helping us diagnose the problems with our old one and recommending an appropriate unit for our needs.

I’m always impressed with their responsiveness to schedule a visit. We recently had our AC serviced and after a heat wave, wasn’t producing cool air. A day after I called, Eric was here and fixed our AC. Very trustworthy company and will be using them for our HVAC install.

Nathan was very professional, courteous and on time. He gave us a thorough overview of the issues with our AC unit and provided several options of how to fix them. We appreciated his transparency and prompt follow up.

We recently had a new unit installed in our home. They had to make some enviromental modifications to install what seems to be an exhaust on the side of the the house. They installed everything on time and they cleaned up. Roman was great to work with he was friendly and kept us updated. I will continue using this company for maintenance.

Our technician Cedric was fantastic. Clearly laid out the issue and how he was going to address it, and he was also clear on any follow up communications. Sunset was very responsive to our initial inquiry and we were able to get a technician within a day

Eric was great, but, although I had specifically asked for a really thin representative, he was too normal-sized to fit into the crawl space to check out my upstairs equipment, so he could only check it rather than cleaning it. Maybe they thought it was æsthetics that made me ask for someone skinny, and it would have been fine to ignore the request in that case, but it was pure practicality.

Eric promised me he’d take that issue up with the scheduling team so they’ll know next time. I’ll miss Eric, but the point is to get the work done, and I hope they’ll do better next time.

The technician from Sunset Heating and Cooling, Landon, who tuned my A/C system was exceptional! He was thorough and quick, plus he explained everything very clearly. Indeed, Landon could teach this stuff -- I learned a lot from his expertise and I had a fun time doing so! I've had universally good experiences with Sunset Heating & Cooling and Landon's help increased my already high opinion of Sunset H&C.
