My furnace stopped working and I called the Sears Heating and Cooling to repair it. The service man came in and said that the control board needs to be replaced. He said that he can call and check if the part is available but the call is going to cost me $100 because it was Saturday or I can wait till Monday. I said that I will wait till Monday. He called back on Monday, the part is available and it costs $700 plus the work. I said thank you but no and called another company, Service Air Technology, to fix my furnace. It was fixed in a few hours by replacing the ignitor and my bill was $130 (parts and labor included). Then I called Sears Heating and Cooling customer service to get back my $79 charge for basically nothing. After I explained everything to them, the lady said that if I want to use another company that's fine but refused to refund the charge. Makes me think that it is a common practice for them to run this kind of scam. Now you decide if you want to use scammers like them or a decent company.
Called to fix my AC/central air and they were out to my home within hours. The issue was resolved in under an hour and even provided additional tips. Also wore shoe covers which was very respectful and the pricing was very reasonable. Thank you.
A five star review does not begin to explain the experience we had today. To start the first gentleman to come diagnose the air conditioning issue we were having was down to earth and most importantly honest. He gave different options as well as his opinion. After weighing pros and cons we went with the complete new unit. They came out on the day and time as promised. They introduced themselves and we walked them to the basement and they quickly got to work. They wore booties on their shoes (not at our request, but rather a courtesy) acknowledged my children and dogs which is huge to me then went over everything as they were removing and installing. Cleaned up like they were never here, set everything up for us and made sure it was working properly as designed. Huge shout out to SHC and will 100% be recommending to neighbors.
We have a 15+ Year old heat pump so we bought the SHC annual service plan just in case. The techs are on time, super knowledgeable and very neat. One tech had been servicing the system with the two previous owners of our house so he knew the system very well. I highly recommend SHC and their service plan, especially with older systems that could have issues at any moment. Peace of mind and service within 24 hours if something does go wrong is well worth it!
We always find Ramon R. To be very knowledgeable, capable, eager to do the work needed, friendly, and full of good counsel when we need to consider what work to have done. He is on time, takes measures to keep the house clean when there, and clearly communicates our service summary. He and Sears H &C have been our trusted company for years.
Sears accomplishes the job promptly and correctly. Wally is very diligent fixing the task at hand. They have worked on my apartments’ wall furnaces, replaced the units when worn out, and also serviced my home HVAC unit the past 20+ years.
Wally was my technician and he spent time talking to me about options for the future as my system has entered the "on borrowed time" realm. There was no pressure; just explanations. I have always had SHC do my service, and every single technician who has come has been prompt, personable, and thorough.
We’ve had a great experience with Sears. We had to have a whole new HVAC installed and have been getting our regular services since. Joshua is awesome every time he’s come out. Super polite and friendly and always offers feedback.
Robby D. was on time, covered his shoes and asked to use my sink to dump water from my heating system. I replaced my heating system last year which cost over $6,000.00 and this was a heating system maintenance service visit. Robby D. notice that my hot water tank had a leak around the shut off valve, which I agreed to have repaired at the cost of $205.00 but he took my old parts. After Robby D. left, I went to do my laundry and noticed one of my white matching towels was used by Robby D. to clean off the hot water tank, which I had to throw away the towel (see photos). Terribly upset and will not use Robby D. anymore. I'm sure, Sears has towels that can be used to clean up their mess. Sears needs to provide Robby D. with some respect to your customers' training.
Robby showed up within an hour of me calling in about my heat not working. He had to order a new panel (don’t remember what it does or the official name) and had to come back to finish the repair once the part came in. He had the heater fixed within 24 hours of me calling parts and all. Definitely would recommend this company! Not only are they super fast but Robby was very nice and professional.
