Wow! What incredibly bad service . I have insurance with homeserve for my boiler . Why do “I give them so much money”? As my neighbor asked? Because I’m a single mom with young kids and don’t want my house to freeze and can’t spend hours in the basement trying to figure it out with a toddler upstairs. So today on the coldest day of the year and the coldest day in decades in nyc (Jan 30 2019) a technician came for s tune up. First of all he parked in a common driveway and prevented a mom from picking up here son from school while he was tuning up the boiler. Secondly when he left the boiler WASNT WORKING! I say again - he broke the boiler! I didn’t realize until 6pm when the kids were home and the temperature was dropping . So I called homeserve at that time to schedule an emergency repair and the technician was supposed to arrive by 8:30. 8:30 came and went no one showed up. I called numerous times and the phone service said “they had a problem with the system and to call back later”. Now the temperature in my house is 65degrees and it’s only 11:30.
The worst part of this story is that when I called at 11 their phones were finally working and they told me all the technicians were done at 10pm and there was NOTHING they could do.
After I proposed several things they could do such as paying a non. Homeserve technician to come and solve the problem they caused a they said the best the could do was pay $200 for a hotel or refund me of a space heater ! Hahahahaha! I’m supposed to wander around Brooklyn with a 2 year old and 7 year old at 11:30 at night looking for a space heater !!!
So she says the next best thing they can do is schedule a visit for 8am. St that point I’ll be lucky if my house is 50 degrees . Since I won’t be home from dropping my kids off til 10am she said there was NOTHING she could do to ask the technician to come between 10:30 and 12 . If I miss it they will have to reschuele !!! Do you believe this! A problem their own technician caused at 3 pm today !!
I would NEVER recommend this service unless you enjoy throwing $400 away just to freeze your butt off and get a headache.
Some of the technicians have attitudes james today towards my husband. Not our fault that we had another tech come back after yest tech failed turn on the yellow lever 7 hours no heat.
I had an issue with one of my heaters. I called Homeserve they dispatched some immediately. When the tech arrived he was professional and took care of the issue.
