first of all we are in Cobleskill for 4 years and were finding it hard to get any kind of company to service and clean our hot air furnace! then we started to have a leak- we saw a MOHAWK truck took the number called THEY IMMEDIATELY came out THAT DAY to service the heater and Angel was great he diagnosed a broken collector box ! he explained that we also had our filter in backwards! we now hired them for yearly cleaning and servicing ! we paid up front for 5 years and they locked in the price ! FINALLY! A COMPANY YOU CAN RELY ON ! Thank you MOHAWK !

I'll be totally honest in this review and let the public judge with factual data.
We arranged a service appointment to have our 2 stage (Heat/Cool) climate control unit looked at because the AC was not turning on.
The tech arrived around 3:15 (appointment was scheduled to 3pm) and departed at left at 4:52 (which is when the receipt was emailed to us). Total service time is 1 hour and 45 minutes (rounding up).
Just to have a tech come out to our home for a trip/diagnostic is $110. In all fairness it costs money in gas, labor, wear and tear on a vehicle to send a tech out to a location so companies have to recoup some if not all of these costs.
So in the 1 hour and 45 min the HVAC Tech was here, a diagnostic was completed (within the first hour) and the fault traced to the existing thermostat which was installed in our home. The tech indicated that the thermostat we have shorted out and is too new to work with the existing wiring which is there. Bear in mind I am the one that installed the thermostat incorrectly in November of 2018. The thermostat worked great all winter turning on the heat and keeping our home warm. He advised to get an older model thermostat which will be compatible. This was the first time i've ever heard any tech say something as such and was a shock. Usually it's always an upsell to upgrade to a newer model with more features. So the saga goes on and the tech plays around with the wires and manages to find a way to make the existing wire work with a thermostat he has in his truck. So now the older model thermostat is not needed and we can use a newer model.
So the the tech installs the thermostat which is Honeywell T4 Pro Series. The existing thermostat is a Honeywell T5 (bought at lowes) which carries the same backplate for wiring. The T4 Pro Series thermostat is not available in retail stores and lets face it no HVAC company is going to reveal their cost price and supplier. So i went online and googled the specific model (based on the back of the thermostat) to get a gauge of the price. Roughly it's $60 shipped to your door. This would mean that even the HVAC company can get it for $60, but i'm sure their cost is lower.
Total cost for the thermostat and installation is $205.30. If i bought the thermostat online for $60, that would mean the installation labor is $145.30.
How does $145 for 45 min worth of work make sense? Is the belief to charge a customer a flat price for work regardless if it takes 5 min or 5 hours?

We had a leak on our boiler, on a Saturday, of course, water all over the basement. Called our big local company who did work on it within the past year, who we also pay monthly for a service plan. Despite their advertising 24/7 service...they would not come out and got no return call at all. Called Mohawk-had never used them before. Phone gal very polite, friendly. The tech John came out, the office called first to give us ETA. John got it fixed in a jiffy! No nonsense. Thanks Mohawk Heating! You guys rock!

My first experience with Mohawk Heating is one worth of a great review. I contacted Mark early on a Tuesday morning letting him know that my AC had stopped working. By 10 AM Sherry reached out to me to find out more about the problem and within two hours Nick was at my house diagnosing the problem. He quickly understood that the fan was not working properly causing the unit to overheat. He needed a new part and in less than one hour my AC was working again. He was polite, personable and professional. 5 stars!

When our furnace in our new home broke on a cold November night, we contacted Mohawk because family members have had years of good experiences. They sent someone out promptly, supplied us with space heaters and good instructions on how to use them safely, and gave us helpful info for picking a new furnace. The new furnace was installed on time, as scheduled, and with no problems. We've now had it two years, and it has worked great. We've had it serviced annually by Mohawk, and the service people have always been polite, on-time, and professional service people. Five stars.

This summer we had several issues with our air conditioner, we called Mohawk heating late on a Friday panicking that they couldn’t see us until Monday. The office staff was extremely polite, kind and helpful. Always cheerful on the phone and very knowledgeable. They got a technician out right away and after reviewing our equipment it was decided we need to replace the unit (it is 30 years old I was half expecting that). The technician was very polite and clean and was able to do a temporary fix while we wait for equipment to arrive. The day of the install the employees showed up on time, worked very clean and completed the job in half the time we were quoted. I could not be happier with the level of service and professionalism from this company. I highly recommend to anyone in need of hvac work.
