Work on site has always been done well. Workers are punctual, efficient, courteous, and clean up after their work. Sometimes there has been confusion in the office over notification on yearly service contracts or scope of the work to be done.

Was looking to install 2 ecobee thermostats on a 2 zone system. I installed the first zone ecobee no problem with the help of ecobee support. I go to install the zone 2 ecobee themostat and couldn't get it to work. Ecobee told me my controller board wasnt compatible and gave me a list of ones that were. I looked up online and found the recommended control board for $250.

I called Mohawk to install a new controller board. I called 1/31 to set up an appointment. They managed to send some one 2/3. They charged me $150 trip fee and 15 min of labor that equals to $185 with tax. Guy tells me it's an incompatible board and he will order a new one and get back to me. No problem.

I dont hear from him for a couple days then call on 2/7. Woman who picked up the phone seemed annoyed and told me someone would call me back as they were busy. Later that day I get a call saying it would be $600 and would need a $100 deposit. I agreed as I already spent $185. He tells me someone will follow up for an appointment.

I didnt hear back until I called them on 2/9. They said they could send someone out on 2/13, great. Then on 2/13 they canceled and said they would be there on 2/14 between 2pm-5pm. Being valentines day, I took my wife to an early lunch and then got a call saying the tech was there at 12:30pm.

I rushed home leaving my wife at the table as I could see from the ring camera he rang the doorbell and was about to leave. Call them and he sticks around and I explain whats needed. Very nice guy, very understanding cant blame him for the previous company faults. He installs it and gets it up and running in about an hour. Total charged was $525 for the day. All said to install an ecobee thermostat and control board it cost me $185 (initial visit) + $100 (deposit) + ($525 service call) = $810. The part online was $250 they installed... thats $560 per hour they charged me to install a control board and thermostat. I feel hosed and annoyed by there customer service (exception being the guys that came out and actually did the work) Total rip off in my opinion, will be looking elsewhere for my HVAC servicing.
