Ice Age Mechanical

Unfortunate to give a negative review but this is how I and others choose companies so it’s important to share. Did a good job with installation but they will not return my calls or email asking for routine maintenance service. Gave ample opportunity before posting this.

It was a big, complex job--5 inside A/C vent units and 2 large compressors mounted outside. The 2 main guys, Angel and Andy were extremely professional, but friendly. They answered all of my questions throughout the project and brought my attention to various things they were doing or had just done. They also worked quite neatly, which is really impressive considering how much cutting and boring into walls and ceilings they had to do. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting to install split A/C units.

We contacted IceAge to install Mitsubishi Split Units on a 2 family house. It was a bit complicated as this was a brick house (difficult to drill) and each floor needed to have an external Mitsubishi condenser with 3 interior inverters. The Ice Age team was phenomenal. They were very professional, arrived on time every day (took 5 days to complete the job), courteous, very careful not to damage the interior of the house unnecessarily and cleaned the exterior of the driveway and patio area at the end of each day. The absolute best thing for us was the fact that they managed the complete installation end to end that is from end to end. They had experts to do: the electrical work (again not unnecessarily drilling in the interiors to move the lines), fantastic painter to manage the interior painting/retouching, etc. Alec, the primary installer did an absolutely outstanding job with the overall installation, especially the line set cover system (tube to hide all the lines going from the inverters to the external condensers). The way the lines set cover was installed it achieved a VERY professional, clean look that looks like architectural detail and part of the exterior house decor. However, the call out goes to Nicolas Salcedo the Project Manager and at times all around installer, for managing all spects of the install and seeing this project through. He and Alec were tireless for 2 days to ensure the installation was completed on time. His re assurance that the project was to be completed on time and without issues was a big relief for us. for project managing this installation from the start of the project. update. victor got in touch and profusely apologized, there is some inter office communication issues that they need to work on, but he had a crew here that week and fortunately the issue in our bedroom was an easy fix. We are sill waiting on a new grate for the baby room that should stop the leaking. but for now everything is good. Victor does stand by his work and he is honest that his company is always learning and improving.

We hired Ice Age Mechanical 2 years ago to install our HVAC system at our townhouse in Bushwick. We met with 4 HVAC contractors and Victor was by far the friendliest, most communicative and knowledgable contractor that we met with. We hired them to install a mini ducted system over 2 floors, covering 1600 sq ft.

From the 1st year we had some major problems with all the units upstairs. They would jsut not cool. on hot days the units would not go below 85 degrees. We lived with it as best as we could the 1st year. The second year it was unbearable. we were calling Ice age every other week. Many of the technicians they sent were not very knowledgable and we had to beg victor to send someone competent who could assertion what was happening.

Victor eventually admitted that the units were not properly installed and that he fired the guy who installed out units because of his sloppy work. That summer they had to rip up all our ceilings and insulate the system, and for our daughters bedroom the problem was so bad that he had to install an entire new system out of pocket. our patience was being tested but we were grateful for his attention to the matter, the performance of the unit in our room was declining RAPIDLY! It only works on days when the temp is around 80. when it is hotter than 80 it does not cool

We installed a new ceiling fan and bought dark window shades to help offset. This is only our second year with these systems and we are at a total loss. We called to have them service our units last week and the technician again was quite ineffective at explaining the problem. he said that our unit was set to 78 and said the he reprogrammed it, when we asked him how that happened and asked him to show us how to program it he was unable to. The unit in our daughters room smells like mold. He said that they will have to come back and clear the lines which they have yet to do.

Our biggest shock to date came when they billed us $326 for the technician to come and tell us that our remote was not programmed correctly. our contract states a 12 year compressor and parts warranty and a 4 year labor warranty. The communication with Ice age has been challenging and arduous. We have lived with a mostly non functioning system in our bedroom for 2 years, we have had our life upended countless times as they have had to tear our our ceilings and fix the sloppy work that they have performed.

Wow wow this is the worst company ever
They don’t even know what they doing cause this ppl installed over four AC tell me how they never work properly, like right now it don’t work I have no heat everytime I turned it on it just stay on for no reason cause it give me no type of heat or air. The funny part is they send a guy to (fix it) but nothing was fix. Never again

Ice Age did a great job for us. Viktor was wonderful and even helped me talk down a grumpy neighbor who was worried about the outdoor parts of the units. Highly recommended! Thanks, Ice Age!

Ice Age has installed multiple mini-split units at our building and every time has done so professionally and with the utmost workmanship. Highly recommended!

Everything was done as they said it would be. My wife and kid were home because of the pandemic and the guys worked around them. Very fast, friendly and professional. Nicolas is super smart.

Ice Age Mechanical did a great job installing our air conditioning. They were prompt, worked hard, and cleaned up well!
