Santa Claus
After numerous complaints about an ongoing problem with our heater, the company sent out a very young, rude & incompetent service manager, who made it plainly obvious that he did not know what he was doing. After he started lying & trying to talk down to me, I asked him to pack his tools & leave. I will never call this company again. I would not even give this company 1-star, but it is required in order to leave a review.
I got the problem fixed properly the first time, when I called another company.

Had a preventative maintenance contract with United. The A/C unit was working great, until tech came out for preventative maintenance, disassembled the unit, and broke the Fan Motor. Put in a temporary motor that was working poorly
United sent out a second tech and said the fan motor was shot and needed to get a new one and price was $575.
United broke a perfectly good A/C unit and wants us to pay for it. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

I just had service from United and had to replace the control board. The technical service was great but the pricing from the company was outrageous. The cost they charged was over ~648 dollars and I can buy the same board, 50A65-475 White Rogers board on Amazon from $106 to $138 dollars. Using the $138 cost that about a 370% markup. Anyone reading this can look up this number for yourself to validate.
I was told by the service technician's supervisor that they compare there pricing to other like companies. I guess they are all criminal. My service call already covers labor rate. Pure Greed.

We have a maintenance contract with UHC and when we had this emergency outage, we jumped to the head of the line. Donald, the service technician, was very professional, identified the problem and told me how he would fix it, and did so quickly. Great service from the initial call to paying the bill - very rare indeed.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.. PLEASE READ BELOW:
Do not use the company for any service work. My mother in law paid United Heating and Cooling $400 the beginning of this year for them to do service work on both of their AC units since they do live in an town home/condominium. They have yet to come out this year to service the units. It is now May 4th and we turned the AC units on and the main level unit is not blowing cold. So we naturally called them to come out and service the unit today which they agreed to for an additional $125 and any additional parts/Freon needed we have to pay them as well at a 15% discount .
I explained to them that the reason for our call today and why the urgency was my mother in law is taking care of her dyeing husband in her home. He is laid up in a hospital bed in the middle of the living room and it is 80 degrees inside. I explained to both the technician and his manager on call that my father in law is on his last few hours battling dementia and we needed to have this addressed.
They had ZERO sympathy, towards the situation of which my mother in and law was going through. The manager on call said either we pay the $125 or he will just cancel the call for us. I asked him why have you yet to be out here to service the AC since she already paid the $400 in advance for this? In his words were we would have to reschedule an appointment on Monday to have this done that he would not do it today as we needed it to be done since they have not come out to service the unit in 2018. He then stated that my mother in law was suppose to schedule an appointment with them to have this done. I reminded them again that my mother in law has been dealing with my father in law's medical issue and he has been in and out of the hospital. Again not one "Oh I am Sorry" or one ounce of sympathy they just want their money.
Now how can you work with a company that is sitting on $400 of my mother in laws money already and they refuse to do the right thing and come out and repair the AC so my father in law and his family members do not have to deal with this. This company has ZERO HEART along with not a shred of compassion for what my mother in law is going through decency .
It shows the character of the employees at this company tonight and I will make sure that this horrible customer service and true lack of compassion for others gets spread all over the Internet. We will be cancelling out maintenance plan with the company and looking elsewhere to find a company that does not want to try and take care of people in the times of need.
PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD SO OTHER PEOPLE DO NOT GET TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF LIKE THEY TRIED TO DO TO MY MOTHER IN LAW TODAY!!

I would never think about using another company. I have used United for my AC and Plumbing issues. They are always on time, friendly technicians and they never over charge me like other companies have in the past.
