Our AC went out towards the end of summer and they couldn't get someone out to look at it for a week and a half. When speaking to a rep, they said that the weather wouldn't be too bad so we should be fine. There were multiple 90+ degree days with high humidity in that time frame. They weren't able to rent or lend out a portable unit either.
When you do schedule an appointment just know you pick a day and they'll show up anytime from 8am - 8pm. Guess I'll just take a day off work and have them show up in the evening anyway.
I couldn't stand the sweaty nights and neither could my infant daughter so I watched some YouTube videos and ended up fixing it myself. Thankfully it was an easier fix but still frustrating I've been paying for a worthless service.
The program sounds good in theory, but the appointment windows are often 13 hours, even when your furnace is out. Unable to cancel if you use the service without getting charged. Will have to pay another year, without using and then cancel. With the large appointment windows and usually multiple trips, would rather pay for a normal appointment without being slaved to your house all day.
This company was initially very good. Now, I would never never refer anyone for their services. My Father-in-Law actually helped create this plan. Far from good customer service, repairs, if you need a part, you will wait for about a month. Very sad. Disrespectful customer service.
Getting a narrow service time window is impossible. a service time of 8am to 11pm is not acceptable. Cannot get a supervisor to call back. Techs are great if you can get one.
So we have Homer Service Plus for our HVAC & our Water Heater. Our water heater went out and we have not been able to get the pilot light lit again. This happened Sunday and we went online Monday to schedule an appointment. We cant get anyone here for anyone repairs at the soonest 8/11/22. What the hell.2 weeks to get a technician here to repair our water heater! Buyer beware!!
I can’t speak to any service or professionalism of any of the techs because none of them have shown up yet. Friday, we were given a 12 hour service window. Inconvenient but manageable. 8am to 8pm. At about 6pm I called customer service and after 30 mins on hold, I was finally connected to an agent who assured me “they’ll be there.” They weren’t. Got an email that they would be here between 8am and 431pm on Sunday, Father’s Day. Not ideal but now I have to stay home and not spend the day near the house. Another device window comes and goes, about an hour later 523pm, we received a phone call, which we missed because we were out doing family things, and when we called back, it’s an automated service that takes more time than I was willing to wait to speak to someone who can’t actually help me… very very frustrating. Don’t recommend.
Update: The tech arrived the following day after I called to make another appointment. He has been sitting in my driveway for 20 minutes and hasn’t rang my doorbell yet….
I've had my appointment cancelled both times I've tried to get service. Very frustrated since I've been paying for service that they won't provide.
I needed my dryer fixed but work during the week so I make an appointment for the weekend. I had to wait 2 weeks, which was ok. Then, the day of the appointment it was cancelled and rescheduled for the following Monday. I called back to say I work during the week so they rescheduled for a Saturday 2 weeks later (a month after my original request). Then, after waiting halfway through my appointment window, I got a notice that it had been cancelled and rescheduled for another Monday.
I think I am going to be far better off saving the money and finding my own repair providers. Definitely do not recommend.
We are not happy with this service. We pay to have appliances covered if they break, and most of the time they can't fix the appliances for one reason or the other. This time was our fridge. Our fridge was slowly leaking water in the bottom drawer, they came to fix it but since it was an interior problem they couldn't. She put the fridge back together and the fridge temperature continued to drop after she left and over night. We had no issues before she came. A couple hundred dollars of food spoiled over night. And of course they have no sort of food money reimbursement either. The temperature was completely fine before they came and now the whole unit is completely broken, even our freezer. Just very unhappy with how they handled this, couldn't even fix the original problem when we're paying for the appliance to be covered, and now the whole fridge won't work with so much food wasted.
If you own a home, you need HSP. I've been a customer for 14 years now, and HSP has saved me thousands in out of pocket repair costs. Nothing beats having the peace of mind that comes with knowing that if any of you major appliances stop working, HSP will be there to fix it for free.

The service technicians are fantastic! What’s not is the 12 hour window Center Point gives you on en appointment.
