What can I say, 30 year's as a customer and have had only one complaint in that time frame. As a homeowner, this is peace of mind you cannot live without. The preventive maintenance calls have extended the life of my HVAC/water systems. Keeping my family free to worry about other life events and security to know we are covered with all our home appliances. Thank you for year's of great service
Our washer was making lots of noise and moving around during the spin cycle. Had hsp come check it out. Problem was found to be that the lower counterweight had fallen off. Conveniently that wasn't covered by their service. Allegedly needed new counterweight and hardware. Obviously he didn't attempt to do his job very well. I took it upon myself to make the repairs, which entailed removing the hardware, installing the counterweight and replacing the hardware. While doing that I discovered the door seal was torn in several places-something that should have been very easily discovered by a trained technician, but was never mentioned.
Would not recommend. We have only had to use our home plus service plan twice in the past few years and both times they are scheduled way far out. The first time it took multiple appointments and multiple techs to fix the issue. If I’m paying a monthly fee for a service plan I would expect that they would come out in a reasonable amount of time and fix it the first time. I cancelled today and called a local company who can come out right away. Very frustrating!
So I called on July 30th because my air conditioning went out the night before and we pay every month so if something breaks they will come fix it. Well she told me someone would be out that Saturday August 6th, 7 days later it’s going to be 90 to 100 all week and I have little kids and pets. She said she would put me on the waitlist if someone cancelled, well I called around had someone out the next day to fix it. It’s been a busy week so I forgot to cancel and they came today August 9th 3 days after they were supposed to be here. I do not recommend paying for these services because they take to long to come to your house and they obviously don’t care about there customers because she told me wrong date and probably didn’t even put me on waiting list! Do not pay to get this service save your money and pay smaller businesses because they care and come out faster.
Have been a service plus member for years and pay a premium for this "Service". Over the summer I had a water heater go out. It took them 5 days to fix it. Now, my furnace went out. It will be 5 days before they even show up. Going to cancel my subscription with them.
I wouldn't suggest HSP to anyone. Please don't go with them. I have both Maintenance and Repair plan. When the furnace was broke first time, technician said motor went bad and they replaced it after two days. After 4 days, furnace broke again and the technician said the ignition rod is black (not cleaned). I did the fall maintenance a month back then why the furnace ignition rod was not cleaned (scheduled as part of maintenance). After 3 days, furnace broke again and said the control board is faulted due to new motor we need to replace the board. Again waited for 3 days . Almost 2 weeks without a furnace in MN cold (CenterPoint don't care about that, they only care about money).
When I called them said I want to cancel the plan as it is not working for me, I can go elsewhere. But they said if we need to cancel we need to pay the money for the service they did already.

Pretty big window to stay home so I took the day off work unpaid. 3pm I called, said I was still on the schedule, 5pm I called, same response from automated service, 7:30 I called and finally got to speak to a representative, she said I was still on the schedule. No show from them. No call or text but got an email after 8pm saying they rescheduled for a week from now. Can’t go a week without hot water, very disappointed in this service I pay for every month. Ended up replacing it myself, I guess I don’t need them.
