He performed the A/C maintenance required for the unit's warranty and showed me some tricks with the thermostat and a phone app for it also. Great service.

Cody Morris was our HVAC tech, and he was great. Very professional, had all of his gear organized in/on his rucksack, and handled the routine checks and services of our 10yr.-old furnace very efficiently. Among his checks, he used an electronic sniffer to check for natural gas leaks in all of the gas piping in the house, and discovered a leak in the piping to our fireplace insert. He repaired that very efficiently, too, after providing the pricing info, and I was glad to have that issue resolved. His services were well worth paying for—highly recommended!

Responsiveness of the company was fantastic - after hours service call and the tech arrived within 2 hours. The tech called before he came and was polite. Pricing is steep ($175 for diagnostic fee alone, which does not apply to the service).

After testing the capacitor on my blower, which read low and out of tolerance, the tech advised I needed a new blower motor as the unit appeared to be seized up. I asked that he just replace the capacitor to test if that would fix the issue, which it did.

Replacing the blower motor (additional $900), replacing the $7 capacitor (additional $190). I opted to take note of the part I needed, pay just the $175 after-hours diagnostic fee, and perform the replacement of the capacitor myself. Although this was my own decision, it resulted in being without AC during 90 degree+ weather for over 24 hours until the new capacitor arrived.

Review score is influenced by the company's Responsiveness, the Technician's Approach (should have tested the capacitor first before determining my 5 year old system needs a brand new blower motor), and the overall pricing vs. value of the service.

If you need service fast, use this company, but be prepared to pay well above what you may consider to be reasonable pricing.

Northwinds installed a new hot water heater in our home. Everyone involved in the process was very friendly and professional, especially given this happened on a Friday night/Saturday morning. The lead technician, Randy, who installed the unit was very good to work with. He explained things thoroughly and answered all my questions.

Seem to be good people. Used them a few times over the years for my very old furnace. They say I should look into a new furnace. But have never tried pushing it on me. Good advice without the pushy sales people. Definitely will be the people that replace my furnace when the time comes.
