The initial process of changing out my indoor and outdoor HVAC system went great. They stuck to their initial estimate even when they needed to increase to the larger unit. Unfortunately, during the initial installation the drainage pipe was not secured at a downward angle and flooded my attic, which in turn created water damage to my kitchen ceiling. After the issue came to their attention, they were quick to send a technician over and fix the drainage issue. They didn't stop there either, after a little confusion, Tom and his team paid for the damages in full. Overall it was a great working experience with a slight hiccup, and I would have no issues recommending their services to a friend

Had my gas meter replaced by Columbia Gas, and was informed I had a leak, so the service was turned off. Tom at Dorsey worked hard to get the problem identified and addressed, and got the gas issue resolved. Thanks to Shaun, Adam and Mike for great worksmanship and diligence on the job, and to Tom for getting it done well. If you need plumbing done, call these guys.

Jim Dorsey & Sons is a great company. I had a new A/C-Heating unit recently installed by Dorsey & Son's, and after a few bumps and minor issues they did a great job at a fair and reasonable price. Tom, John the installation guy and his crew were awesome.

This was our second time using Jim Dorsey & Sons for natural gas boiler issues, and both times have been great experiences. I called them yesterday about having no heat - and they came out the next day within the time window they had quoted (thanks Brad, for the professional and thorough service!) After a thorough cleaning and inspection of our aging Weil-Mclean furnace, he discovered the problematic part and ordered a replacement sensor which was ready within about 20 minutes, and had us enjoying heat again within an hour after he went to pick up the part.

Their technicians are clearly good at what they do and they take the time to explain everything clearly to the customer. The last time we had an issue with our boiler, six years ago, others told us we'd have to replace it. When the Dorsey tech came out to the house, he was persistent in isolating the problem and found a part that he was able to install to save us a good amount of money.

I find them to be consistently professional and trustworthy, and that goes a long way when you have no heat in late November!

I hired Jim Dorsey and Son to do an oil to gas transition for my house. Given how big a project it seemed, I had no idea what to expect and how the whole thing would get done. First, Jay Dorsey visited the house and gave me an explanation of how everything would get done, what equipment I should consider, and how I should go about getting funding from MassSave. Once that whole MassSave loan process was complete, the crew showed up on time, with three trucks and a half dozen guys. The team lead, Ray, was incredibly helpful in walking me through again what they were going to do, how long it would take, and what they needed from me (which was very little). I worked from home for those two days just to make sure everything went smoothly...but I really didn't need to do that. Ray and the rest of the guys were very thorough, polite, and punctual. I was shocked to see what they were able to accomplish in just a couple of days...the old oil system/tank were gone and the new high efficiency equipment was set up with all new plumbing. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone. I'm actually looking forward to winter now!

After our water tank cracked and needed to be replaced, we were referred to Jim Dorsey by our parents. However, once the installers arrived, they said we were quoted the wrong style tank and the new price would be more than double ($1,400 to $3,000+). The customer service rep on the phone asked if it was a standard water tank. As a first-time homeowner, I believed this meant "not tankless." The representative never asked me to provide the specific model of my tank nor asked any follow up questions to make sure they had the correct information.

The icing on the cake was that because I said "yes" to it being a standard tank, I had to pay the $160+ service fee. I should have refused and then tipped the installers myself! My favorite quote from the customer service rep: "we have you on record saying it was a standard water heater."

Installers were terrific and knew their trade well but the customer service was dreadful and the cost was extremely high in comparison to quotes from other reputable companies.
