McNiff Plumbing and Heating

After contacting a few plumbers, we came across McNiff and we were very glad we did! He installed two home water filters and then replaced our kitchen faucet a day later after he discovered there was a leak. Sean is a true professional. Easy to contact, explains what is needed clearly, provides transparent pricing, and completed the work with high quality. We 100% recommend and will use McNiff again in the future for our plumbing needs.

Sean came and replaced my hot water tank. He ran into an unforeseen problem when my boiler suddenly died. He tried everything to get it working again; face timing with the mfr tech support and staying a few additional hours (for which which he did not charge me).. Unfortunately, it couldn't be fixed. Not wanting me to be without heat in the middle of winter, he expedited the parts and came back to install a new boiler within roughly 36 hours. I now have heat, hot water, and a plumber I know I can trust.. I highly recommend Sean and his team!

Called Sean on Sunday asking if he was available to replace our hot water heater that had decided to leak while we were on vacation. He said he could pick up a new one Monday morning and come right over. Sean was extremely professional, worked with efficiency and wrapped up entire job in timely fashion. We needed to replace the forced hot water registers in our 3 bathrooms as they were rusted even after replacing them a couple of times.I finally got 3 new units that are supposed to be more resistant to humidity. We needed to install them before winter but our regular plumber was not helpful.So, this summer we decided to go with someone else. I googled to find a good plumber in our area and I found "McNiff Plumbing and Heating" in shrewsbury, Massachusetts. The reviews were positive and decided to give him a call.
It was the best decision we made. He gave me a rough estimate for the job and I also discussed some other minor plumbing issues if he can take care of while he is here.
He came promptly on time and did an exellent job installing the 3 bathroom registers. This required draining the heating system and purging it after installing the new registers. One of the plumbers I talked to indicated that most probably he has to replace some parts in the heating system as a result of draining and purging (scare tactics!). None of this happened with McNiff!
McNiff also took care of ALL the other plumbing issues I had. When he went to get some supplies, I relaized that our refrigirator shutoff valve for the water supply is rusted and it may start leaking and would be a good idea to replace it while he was here. I texted him while he was at the plumbing supplies store and he asked me to send him a picture of the shutoff valve. I did and he got a new valve and a braided steel supply line to replace the vinyl one we had before.
In addition to all this, while working in the boiler room, he noticed a leak in the hot water supply line and noticed some water accumulating on the floor. I asked him if he can fix that as this was really a serious issue and he did!
We are very satisfied with McNiff work and in addition to the excellent workmanship he provided he is very professional, honest, fast, friendly, and a pleasant guy to deal with. As for the charges, maybe he is a little bit above the average rate plumbers charge BUT it's worth it as he does a great job and does not use scare tactics others sometimes use.

We will definitely rely on McNiff if we ever need any plumbing work in the future.

We recently hired McNiff Plumbing and Heating to upgrade to a tankless hot water heater. He was able to schedule and complete the work quickly and left the space cleaner than when he came. Throughout the process Sean and his staff were extremely polite, knowledgeable, and professional and overall did incredible work. He was also able to assist us in accessing the rebate for upgrading to a tankless heater. Sean was great to work with and we will definitely contact him again for any future plumbing needs.

Sean was very responsive, professional and showed up on-time to our appointment. The work was completed quickly, and his rates were affordable and made known upfront (no hidden charges). Excellent customer service, reasonable rates, and cleaned up after the job was finished...I would not hesitate to use McNiff Plumbing and Heating again.

Sean McNiff was great to work with. He replaced our hot water tank that was under warranty. The original plumber who installed it would not follow through in going after the company for a replacement. Sean went above and beyond and got us a replacement. He installed it efficiently and professionally. I highly recommend him.
