Monroe Comfort Air was recommended through Angi. Our second floor central a/c went down in mid-day summer heat. Within an hour of reaching out Charlie (owner) called us-he asked some questions, gave a recommendation of things to check that might have shut the system down that we could possibly reset without a service call.
When this didn’t resolve the issue he was at our house first thing in the morning. He explained everything he was doing and he educated us about many things on the system including simple maintainance to avoid issues. He found the issue, went for parts, but only 3 of 5 were available locally 2 others would have taken at least 4 days to ship. Many companies would say sorry-when the parts come in next week we’ll come back to do the repairs. Charlie instead drove to Palmer (>40 miles each way) without charging us for travel/distance fees to get the parts needed! He came back, replaced the fan motor that had seized, and changed out wiring that could give us short-term issues, and fully checked, cleaned, recharged both systems. He was so thorough, explaining everything along the way. He had our system up and running less than 24 hours after it shut down-something I feared could never happen in the summer heat of July. Highly recommend this company and Charlie. Could only give 5 stars but would give 10 if I could.
Fast forward 2.5 weeks later…..system compressor/fan shut down just before the worst heat wave week of the year. He gave my husband over the phone steps to check the system and determined the issue may be that our 16 year old system was leaking refrigerant. He came as promised on Tuesday and unfortunately that was the issue. Reviewing the options with Charlie it was clear we could try to patch the system but risk another shut down in the short-term. It was clear we needed to install a new system. We feared this could mean being down for an extended period especially with the worst heat wave of the year upon us. But Charlie came through again. He spent all day Tuesday prepping for a new install and came on Wednesday at 6am to try to beat the heat in our attic to complete the installation. He had us up and running by noon on day two despite the heat wave. He also credited us towards the new system from the prior repair which we had not asked for at the time-something he was not obligated to do (and which I expect others would not do). Highly recommend this company and Charlie. I wish there were more people and companies this customer focused.

Charlie Atchue from Comfort Air is professional, responsive, punctual, quick and reasonably priced. He has attention to detail and cleans up post work performed. He installed a new combi unit at my house a while back that works like a gem and he recently showed me how to self-maintain the unit on annual basis to avoid unnecessary maintenance costs in the future. It is an easy DIY task. Charlie is A1.

High recommend Monroe if you need help with your HVAC. We have a natural gas furnace that stopped working on us in January. Charlie did his best to diagnose the problem over the phone for free. That didn't work, but he came out immediately and fixed the issue for no charge above the service fee. While he was there he did a complimentary check of the system and said all was in working order. Other companies find something wrong and recommend a $5k repair that may not be necessary.

Charlie was timely, professional, and honest, and I will call him again.

Charley Atchue of Comfort Air is the best, most responsive & reliable HVAC guy I have ever used & I have used many over the years. My wife & I trust him implicitly, as he has bailed us out on multiple occasions by going WAY above & beyond to solve urgent problems we were having, most recently showing up at our house at 7am on a Saturday during a very busy time of year. He is resourceful & extremely knowledgeable & always finds the lowest cost option, when possible. He is a pleasure to do business with and I wish I had found him many more years earlier!

We needed to have our Furnaces replaced as the original installation was done incorrectly. Also, the old ACs were incorrectly sized and the house was humid during the summers. Charlie came out and replaced our furnaces and resized the ACs. He was knowledgeable and helped us choose equipment that would fit our needs. He was also available to fine tune any issues we had after the installation. He stands by his work and does an excellent job.

I own an Internet Marketing company and am a member of Google+. I provide internet marketing services to Monroe AC and I know the owner Charlie Atchue well. He is an honorable hard working guy. The negative review above is not from one of his customers. It is from a phone solicitor trying to sell Charlie on hiring him to do internet marketing for him. Charlie has asked him many times to stop calling him. After several days in a row of Charlie telling the man to stop calling him, he lost his temper and cursed at the guy to stop calling him.
The price changing statement is a lie.
I will be notifying the Massachuetts Attorney General about this situation. I will also be making a formal complaint with Google about this bogus review.
