The guys at Grove HVAC are true professionals… that is attributed to the atmosphere that Gary implemented years ago. They ARE the best in the business!

As it is that time of year again I tested my AC and found it wanting. Responding the same day I called (within hours!) it was determined a circuit board had failed and it’s replacement was required. They did so within two days, that delay on my part than theirs.

They will get my business again in the future.

Fantastic service and install of two new HVAC systems at my house. Very professional work and great redundancy system they have on the condensation pump and pan. Would absolutely do business with Grove again. And to boot, they sent me a great Yeti mug gift!

Nick (I think his name was came) on time and busied himself with checking and monitoring and doing all the things they normally do and our heat is working wonderfully (our coil was replaced 2 months ago). Grove has been the best HVAC we've used. Very communicative w me. Arrow also was an employee who came and fixed an issue. So pleased with them!

Update/27 June 2023: Once again needed Grove, this time to urgently replace the hot water heater, and once again, Grove delivered. They provided excellent customer service from start to finish. Thank you! Mom thanks you, too!

Excellent, courteous, and responsive customer service by the technician, Jason Welch, on more than one occasion. Thank you for helping my mom out with her HVAC, we are very pleased and will continue to call you with our HVAC needs.

I called Grove because my Mitsubishi mini-split outdoor unit had failed and my usual repair person was in the hospital. I explained that it went out last year when a load of snow fell on it from above, and that this year it probably was the same thing (this year I didn't hear it happen, but we were warming up from a big ice storm so there was stuff to fall).

They diagnosed it as needing a new control board *and* compressor. The unit is still under warranty, but only parts are covered, not labor. Nevertheless, they made me put down a deposit for the parts, which is sketchy to start with. Disappointing that they don't keep them in stock, and why do I need to prepay if they're covered by warranty. They sent two guys out to replace the parts, and charged me $1800 for the labor. They were here for less than 5 hours, so that's $180/hr they charged me, which seems excessive, even if the repair had worked.

But no, they had misdiagnosed it. The problem was with the power board, as would have been obvious had they taken 2 minutes to examine it. That's the board that's directly under the top of the unit. You know, where I told them the snow or ice had hit. Turns out that under the 1/2" of foam protecting that board, there is a metal shield. One look at the board and the problem was obvious: it was covered with soot from where it had been shorted against the metal shield when the snow landed on the top of the unit. An entire 1/2" wide trace on the board had been vaporized (see photo). If they had actually looked at it in the first place, it would have been obvious, but they just count flashes on the self-diagnosis LED and call Mitsubishi to ask them to diagnose it remotely.

To add further insult, they then charged me an additional $250 to replace that board. After I spent half an hour on the phone with them explaining why the problem was obvious and they had clearly misdiagnosed it, the best they would do was take off 10% from the second charge. 25 bucks off a $2000 bill for a warranty repair. That also took an extra week and a half waiting for the second board.

So, to sum up:
Badly misdiagnosed my problem
Charged a fortune, mostly due to said misdiagnosis
No parts in stock
Unwilling to provide any cost reduction to make up for all that

0/10, will never use again.

I used Grove for a complete replacement of my heating and cooling systems, as well as my home's water heater. Grove's sales engineer Brian was polite, responsive, and genuinely invested in providing me the most cost effective solution for my home. I walked away feeling like a received an excellent value and top notch workmanship. Would highly recommend!

My furnace home humidifier (Aprilaire 550) was leaking water. I diagnosed the cause as being a crack in the feeder tube. I took a video of the tube leaking water. I called Grove Heating and Cooling for service. They advised me they would charge me $124 to come to my home. When the technician arrived, I showed him the video. He did a diagnostic of the system himself, and in less than 5 minutes, confirmed that the problem was a crack in the feeding tube. He submitted a request to order the tube, which is approximately $15. Before leaving, he explained that once the tube was received, they would return to install it. A half hour after he left, I received a call from a young lady at at the Grove Heating and Cooling office. She advised me that the tube itself was no longer manufactured however, they could order a kit, that includes the tube and other minor parts. I was advised that this would cost approximately $430. This is in addition to the initial $124. I declined. I called Aprilaire directly, and was advised the referenced kit cost $75, which is the same price listed on their website. I called Grove Heating and Cooling for an explanation on the discrepancy. I was told the $430 includes the price to order the part, pick it up, and a flat fee for the technician to install it. I wish I was informed about the “flat fee” to install anything ahead of requesting service in the first place. Thanks.

Grove Heating and Cooling was a big help to me when it was time to install our new HVAC system. They were referred to me by the Mr. and Mrs. Scott in Bowie, and they worked with me to get the paperwork for the special financing and the crew arrived on-time, and work diligently to install our new system. They were professional and cleaned up after all the work was completed. I will definitely recommend Grove Heating and Cooling to my friends and family.
