Wow. What a pleasure. I contacted Grove, maybe 2 weeks ago. Larry came out, discussed what we were trying to do, and provided a quote within the same day.

It got better from there. Carlos and his team installed our mini-split Mitsubishi system today, and it was an absolute pleasure. They were prompt, polite and professional.

I cannot say enough great things about Grove Heating and Colling. Thank you!

Tech called before coming to the house. Was on time. Serviced the A/C unit for spring maintenance. Knew what he was doing. Shows respect for customer and ask if they have any questions. I've been a customer of Grove's for maintenance of my 2 heat pumps since roughly 2015 and have always been impressed with the quality and timeliness of their service and the Technicians themselves. However on Feb. 24, 2023 things changed. One system was diagnosed as needing a new compressor, which was still under warranty for the part. The estimate for 2 technicians to complete the job was a flat fee of $2,154.00 (On top of the $124.00 service/diagnosis call earlier in the day). I authorized the job but then started wondering why so expensive when the cost of the part wasn't a factor. I contacted the company for a breakdown of the estimate/fee but they refused. Other than saying it was based on 2 techs taking 4 hours to complete including other things like having to braze in a new "filter/dryer" part as part of the process.
I expressed my concern as a loyal customer that the cost still seemed excessive and I'm all for small businesses making a reasonable profit. They wouldn't budge on the price. And worse, the techs performed the job from approximately 11:30 to 2:00, a 2.5 hour job instead of 4 hours the flat fee was supposedly based on. Also, the description of work performed made no mention of replacing the "filter/dryer".
When no concession is given to a long time customer who expresses a concern, when no price break is offered when the job took 1.5 hours less than the estimate and when there is some question as to the honesty of the Supervisor I talked with concerning what work was actually to be performed as a flat fee it's time to write a negative review and move to another company. This industry is so competitive - lots of businesses choose from. I've spent a lot of money with Grove over the years. They should try to hold onto customers like me.
