We have used Carroll for decades and have been very satisfied with their service. Today "Charlie" came out to give us our yearly tune-up, and we were very impressed with his demeanor, his knowledge and ability to answer questions and check our concerns. What a great guy! Give that man a raise! :) While their prices might be higher than some others, we feel we save money by having great service, peace of mind, and a smooth-running furnace.

I have been with Carroll for about 14 years. Over the last three years, I have used minimal amounts of oil. I have a huge credit on my account as a result of using their auto pay plan. Imagine my surprise when the payment amount for the auto plan increased. I called to inquire about the increase. It was recommended that I stop the auto pay and use the residual balance. Today, I get a call asking if I had my unit fixed. What? I never stated there was an issue with the unit. The auto pay was stopped because I am not using enough oil to warrant the exorbitant charges and your representative recommended this remedy. To add insult to injury, the customer service associate interrogated me as if she were part of the CIA. I am a customer service manager for the largest consumer electronics firm in the world. If my employees treated their customers in this way, we would have a problem. This interaction has made me rethink using this business. As they have grown and changed, their service has declined.

We have used CHS for many years, and they've always been pretty responsive in a timely manner. Our latest crisis was no exception. Our furnace died on a Friday, and they were able to get a technician out the same day. The news was horrible, but the tech was professional and answered all our questions. The next meeting with the sales rep was the same - he explained everything well and was very professional. The crew that did the install were respectful of our home, and showed my husband all the features of the new furnace. Even the scheduler we worked with over the phone was courteous and eager to help. We are very thankful for all the people we worked with at CHS and would definitely recommend them in the future.

They decided to fill oil tank in middle of Summer when oil prices highest and no need to use oil at that time. Also, service technicians took 4 visits to determine our oil furnace was broken and not repairable yet in the meantime they had us continue using it when it was leaking flue gases throughout the house. First tech put in $300 electrical part that was not needed. When called to complain the clerk at the help desk took notes but administrative person who was supposed to never reached out to me to discuss the poor service. Got rid of Oil unit and put in a heat pump by a totally different company

Had 2 hybrid heating systems installed, oil / heatproof. 4 day job, Alvin, Don and crew did a great job of making sure we had heat working for the evenings. Very efficient in their work. Cleaned everything up nicely. Very good work.

We highly recommend Carroll for any work laying gas lines. We did a patio renovation in summer 2022 and the easiest and smoothest part of the project was working with Carroll. Vickey was a master coordinator and always so friendly and helpful. She became my "best friend" on our project. Mike, who laid the gas lines before our concrete was poured and installed our gas fire pits after was knowledgable, skilled and a pleasure to work with as well. When we even ran into a problem with an inspection related to our patio work, the owner of Carroll dropped by to ensure the inspection issues were cleared up quickly! What a team!! All we can say is thank you.

Had an emergency situation where the furnace was smoking and the carbon monoxide detector went off also setting off the smoke detectors. Called arol Home Services. Waited over an hour on phone. Waited a other half a in by on TV no non hour. No response. Finally got someone on the phone who told me that they would be there between 9:00 and 11:00. No one showed up. Another time they said that someone would be there between 11:00pm and 1:00am in the morning. Again, no one showed up. This game went on for three days! Then the electricity went out for a day and a half. Finally told them on the third day that if they didn't bring someone out when they said they would that I would cancel my accounts with them. Guess what, they finally showed up. The level of professionalism was nowhere to be seen with them. Instead of telling tales why don't they tell you the truth!! Contracts with Carroll Home Fuel are apparently useless. When the employees
come to the house to inspect the furnace every Fall they evidently didn't catch the repairs that should have been made when they were here. 2 items had to be replaced on the furnace that were not noticed when they were here in the Fall. In Carroll Home Services ad they say that emergency calls are handles in 2 hours. Oh really? Try 3 days!! I would not recommend them for much of anything.

05/17/2023 DeeDee Holsey serviced my two A/C units today. This is the first time someone cleaned the outside unit. She is extremely personable and explained everything she was doing along the way. I will make sure this excellent person services my home next year.

They over delivered the amount of oil that I requested, then tried to resolve it by offering a discount on their mistake. They also sent an oil delivery 30 days after already delivering and stated that their system showed that I was low on oil. It is impossible to burn through 150 gallons in 30 days! The service is poor and the errors are numerous. This an unethical, price gouging company. BEWARE!!!

Test Market

Just had an odd experience with an oil heat delivery driver. He used our neighbors driveway to access our oil tank. I asked him if he could not use our neighbors driveway and he questioned me about whether or not the neighbors had said something. Then he complained that this was a short run and that if he uses my driveway, it’s a long run. I actually said to him I’m sorry, but you can’t use our neighbors driveway and as he’s leaving, in an unkind way, he said “you’re killing me.” I Attempted to contact his supervisor and learned that there is no direct number to the location that services me anymore. The date delivered was the 20th of March. The driver is number 812. The truck number is 1051. 2700 Loch Raven Rd. Carol Home Services is the address for the company on my receipt. I really don’t want this guy coming back to my house.
