AJ found the problem with our direct vent gas fireplace quickly. He took great care in protecting the hardwood floors in his working area and path to it. He even hung the stockings back up that he had to take down because we forgot to remove them prior to his arrival. Communication was very good as well. Thanks!

Update: the company did reach out after this review to apologize and refund a portion of the money I paid them in an effort to make it right. I did appreciate that.

I contacted them on 12/24 when my heat went out. They did come out fairly quickly and said everything tested fine, wiggled some stuff, blew in some hoses and the heat came back on, but he thought the gas valve was bad even though it tested fine. I decided to gamble and see if it would keep working until the 27th when it would be regular price since it was currently working. I paid him $225 to wiggle some stuff. When i later got the diagnosis email he said the pressure switch tested bad, but he still thought it was the gas valve. He NEVER mentioned the pressure switch to me. Then on the 26th it went out again and wouldn't come back on again. On the 27th the same guy tested everything, said it tested fine, but he really thought it was the gas valve. I asked about the diagnosis from previous and what he said about pressure switch and he assured me the pressure switch was working well. So I told him to go ahead with the gas valve. I pay him another $744. The furnace works, and keeps working for exactly a week. Then I come home and it's out and doing EXACTLY the same thing it was doing at the very beginning. I call and ask for a new guy. New guy comes quickly and is pretty nice. However the furnace then decided to kick on. He still Tests a lot of stuff and said it's hard to tell since its working, but says he thinks it the pressure switch...WTH?! After some debate i decided to put on the new switch, but make it very clear I believe I was scammed into paying $630 for a gas valve I found at supply house for $92.13 that I never needed in the 1st place since it's doing the same exact thing it was doing before the 1st guy put on the extremely marked up gas valve. The 2nd guy was very nice, he said he understood, but couldn't do anything about it except not charge me the new $65 trip charge. I pay him another $309. I get it, its out of his hands, but I feel like the company needs to make it right. I paid extremely inflated prices for a part I never needed. I don't feel like I can trust them and will never use them again. I guess there is a reason they were the only ones not too busy to come out on Christmas eve. It's very sad to me that they would have a 500% mark up on parts. They obviously only care about the almighty dollar and not the customers. They will not get my business again.

Brian cleaned my Fireplace and was very careful about my home and it was working by the time they left. They were very good and pointed out that I should replace the wall switch or push harder on it to get it to light. I was very pleased with the job they did and would highly recommend Kohles & Bach.
