Charged $220 extra for something the technician did to my electrical breaker that was working perfectly fine before he arrived for annual maintenance. Sort of felt like an expensive coincidence. He happened to have a $220 part on his truck or I could have paid an additional $95 for him to go back to the office and get a different part that was equally expensive.

I recently learned Kohles and Bach never connected our electric fireplace to electricity. (10 years ago). We have called multiple times over the past 10 years because the starter seemed to break often. (Our other 2 fireplaces have not required service. I always wondered why the discrepancy.).They told us the fireplace was battery operated. It is a battery back-up design. They never told us the truth that they didn’t install it correctly. I’m guessing that’s why we’ve had almost yearly service problems because the voltage for the spark was 10x than was needed.

I discovered this recently when Kohles and Bach was unable to repair the fireplace when they attempted to fix three times over 4 months from my first call. They had charged my credit card $350+ the first time they were out. I told them I was going somewhere else and they refunded.

I called the Fireplace Center in Clive. Two days later, they fixed it in 15 minutes and charged $100. It was corrosion. The most easy thing to diagnose. The corrosion was a result of their faulty initial installation.

Kohles and Bach is the authorized dealer of Heatilator brand and this is their service record!?!

It took awhile to fix our fireplace, 8 weeks, but during that time they were courteous and professional. They didn't charge us for the labor or parts because it took so long to correct a simple issue. We weren't happy it took so long but in the end they made it right.

The repairman arrived promptly. He was pleasant and efficient. Was able to complete the repair quickly. My air conditioner is now working well

We have used Kohles & Bach Heating & Cooling for our rental business for at least 15 years. They have done all of our service calls and replacements of A/C and new Furnace. We have had many over the years. We give them 5 stars because they are professional, fix it right the first time, we have never had a complaint from tenant, and the office staff is fantastic.
I just wish they would go to the Story County market for our rentals there. But grateful they service all of our Polk County properties.

Solid, fair and reliable I trust Kohl's and Bach. I always call them when I need anything. They almost always come within 24 to 48 hours. They look beyond just the repair. Today the repair man brought a hazard to my attention.

Friendly service on the phone to set up my maintenance plan. Young girl just getting started and she did an excellent job asking for help so she was sure to get it done right.

Our experience with Dave was top notch. He explained what was going on with our furnace in a way I could understand, allowing me to be smarter the next time our furnace throws an error code. He gave me useful tips to keep our system clean and running well. Dave was highly professional. Thank you!!

We had our fireplace repaired. AJ arrived on time after calling to let us know he was on the way. He was very efficient and quick. He was neat and polite and took care of it perfectly would absolutely recommend to everyone.

Brandon responded and was at our home within 30 minutes of my call. I appreciate how professional he was, how quickly he addressed our gas fireplace not working, and explaining how everything worked so we could be more efficient and safe using our fireplace. Nice work Brandon!
